Reflections Hair Salon in Porterville, CA

So I'm going to start with she was 30 mins late and came with breakfast for her and all her co workers, and they don't turn on the ac. Mattie(owner of the shop) did my hair the 2 times I went in the first time I went I was satisfied even tho I thought she overpriced me. Also both times she over books herself and is working on about 4 people at once which is not fair to anyone. I asked for something and the outcome was so bad I made her redo it and I can tell she was irritated she left and did someone els hair and came back to me 40 minutes later. She charged me for a color correction she caused, and only put color correction on first layer of my hair. And continues to try to gas light me that the way she left me is okay. The pictures will have more details, idk if they will be in order but I number them in order. Please learn from my mistakes and stay away from this miserable place.

If I could I'd rate a zero. Worst experience ever. Had an appointment at 9 with Matty which I showed up but she told me to come back at 12 cause she over booked so I did. She was alone and said she only does one or two people at a time but when she was doing mine she was doing three others as well. Matty ended up doing a horrible job on my hair and got mad at me when I told her i wasn't happy with it, and then threatened me. Told me the only way I was leaving the shop was if she cut all my hair off. I was wanting her to just fix her mistake but she refused. She just wanted to get paid and for me to leave without her fixing it. She was very unprofessional and disrespectful. She then replied to my review on her lying about me. She should be ashamed of herself. I have witness to confirm what I'm saying is all true and what she said is false on top of the pictures I have to show how horrible my hair looked after she did it. I will never go back!! & Don't recommend!!

I had my eyebrows waxed here and it was a HUGE MISTAKE!! I do NOT recommend this place to anybody! So I was growing my eyebrows out for 3 months and I finally decided it was time to get them done. Here. I felt like the person who did my eyebrows didn't know what she was doing. I was so UPSET with the after results. I was embarrassed about how they looked. This place is very unsanitary!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING YOUR EYEBROWS WAXED OR DONE HERE!

My wife just had her hair cut and when she got home she noticed that her was cut horrible it was supposed to be feathered but she can't even brush it and it look close to being feathered also she took a picture of what style she wanted but esther didn't pay attention to what my wife was showing her and she thined out her hair way to much

I've been coming to Esther for years for my salon needs. However, over the last year or so there have been several incidents that have perturbed me, including but not limited to: - After being specific about the length of my hair, she proceeded to cut it quite a bit shorter, on more than one occasion, and then claimed that I never told her how short to cut it - Esther would consistently work on more than one client at a time. In addition, while she did use clean tools with me, she wouldn't dust off her apron, or put away the tools which she previously used with the client before me. Thus, her workstation gave the impression that she was quite messy and unsanitary. However, the breaking point was a couple weeks when I had an appointment with Esther. I proceeded to be specific about the length that I wanted my hair to which Esther reacted very harshly and said that she "can't work under these conditions" and proceeded to say that she refused to work with me. Seeing that this was probably the last time I would come see her, I said that it was fine, but that my hair was in need of a major dye job, so i asked her instead to just do color as the roots looked awful especially since I had a wedding to attend. Esther refused and said that she just simply refused to work with me and that I should get out. I am appalled by the way I was treated and the lack of professionalism exhibited by Esther, especially after being a loyal client for 8 years. I was left scrambling at the last minute to find someone to color my hair. Thankfully, I was able to find someone who not only did a great job, but was also very professional and took the time to listen to my concerns. The way Esther treated me is not how anyone should ever be treated. I'd strongly recommend that you go elsewhere for your salon needs; cheaper isn't always better.
