Rattiya's Hair Salon in Honolulu, HI

I needed to get a haircut at the last minute for a wedding and my regular barber was not able to take me. I looked up the reviews in Yelp and saw the great reviews for this shop. Rattiya was busy but, she was able to take me. Rattiya is very friendly and gave me a very nice haircut.

I always have these impulsive moments when I want to do stuff... getting a haircut is one of them LOL. I can never make an appointment in advance because I just forget or don't feel like it at the time and this is why I really appreciate walk-ins!

I found Rattiya's Hair Salon because I was in Chinatown doing some errands and I actually had about 30 mins left on my parking (which I paid for). I didn't wanna waste the 30 mins by going home so I looked up hair salons nearby on Yelp. I saw a few that I could've went to, but noticed that Rattiya's was literally right around the corner from the parking lot I was in.

I decided to give it a chance. When I got there, Rattiya's was empty, but I could tell it was clean and very nice inside. Other reviews mentioned she has a restroom which is an awesome plus. The owner who I am assuming was Rattiya was the only one there and although it was really empty, I still asked her if she was accepting walk-ins. She said yes.

It was hot inside because I am assuming that since it was slow, she didn't want the a/c running, but I also had a mask on which probably made me more hot. She did turn the a/c on after I sat in the chair, but that didn't really cool me down lol. She told me it was about $30 for a haircut. I do like that I could pay by credit card since I only had enough cash for tip. I like to tip in cash for any type of beauty salons.

Rattiya was so nice. She was very quiet and I let her do her work. I don't really like a lot of small talk either, so I appreciated sitting in silence lol. I also did not get a hair wash because I just washed my hair that morning, so I am not sure if a haircut would charge more if you get a wash. Rattiya did a dry cut.

I was about to chop off 3 inches, but I guess I increased it to 4 inches. I swear the hair length looks different when you're in the chair vs. when you're done LOL. I wasn't used to my super short hair, but Rattiya said it looked really nice because my hair is wavy. She also recommended that I try a perm next time since my hair is very thin and a bit of balding on the top. She said the perm would help my hair look thicker and fuller, which I am open to trying next time.

The haircut was quick, probably less than 25 mins. Rattiya is friendly and made me feel comfortable. She really knows how to cut hair. I paid $32 by credit card and tipped in cash. I would come back here again because 1) she takes walk-ins, 2) parking lot right around the corner, 3) she's quick and friendly! I think next time I'd try a hair color appointment next. Thanks again Rattiya!

Great service and worry-free for great style and details. The salon is clean and convenience and friendly. Important thing is there is a restroom ^^

The owner Rattiya's is so nice I called at 0800am before they are opened and she said she can take me in at 1000. I arrived 30 minutes early and she still sees me anyway. I came in with grown out black roots and bleach highlights thru out so it was a mess. I showed her what I want my hair to look like, was a lighter brown tone . She dyed my hair twice and cut it too and worked on me for like 2 hours and 45 minutes and only charged 156 what a steal. Highly recommends anyone if you look for an affordable hair cut and style. She does take walk in but get booked pretty fast so I recommends calling ahead for an appointment!

Absolutely amazing. Rattiya was so patient and she takes time with her work. She is very detailed with each client, I requested a complete makeover to my hair and she did amazing! Just find the picture of what you'd like and she can nail it with no doubt. She is an absolute beast when it comes to coloring, so talented. She's the only person I'd come to and have been for the past year. Definitely give her a try! You won't regret it.
