PURE NAIL SPA in Durham, NC

Called and scheduled a last minute appointment. The salon is clean, and the staff is nice and accommodating. The salon was quiet and relaxing. Didn't take long for her to finish. The menu was slightly confusing but after asking a few questions I was okay. They offer a complimentary drink free of charge but you have to ask for them.

I got my nails done exactly one week ago and two of my nails are already broken. During my visit, two other customers came in with the same exact problem after getting their nails done here the week before. The woman who did my nails was very sweet and kind but she also put the wrong top coat on my SNS manicure and that same day, the first layer started peeling off. I didn't even go back because I was already frustrated after already mentioning to her that it was the wrong  top coat. After $55 (additional $5 for coffin), I am highly annoyed that my nails look like this. I was going to let the top coat slide but this is too much. A few weeks prior, Tina did my eyebrows which I really enjoyed but I would never trust them with doing my nails again.

It is nice and relaxing inside, clean, but I don't like that they do not hand you a menu to see what they offer and their prices ,you have to keep asking because sometimes you can't understand the first time . I got a pedicure and I feel as if the gentleman did not scrub the whole foot  just some spots and nails are okay .

I came here a few months ago and got a good mani/pedi. Tonight was the worst experience. There were about 5 people sitting around doing nothing, no customers (red flag). They have really old Wet n Wild looking nail polishes for regular manicures (red flag). They are all trying to talk to me, offer me things, rush me, etc (red flag). The guy (he's nice but terrible nail tech) asked if I want them cut and I don't have much nail to cut since I just cut them myself and say just file. He tries anyway, it hurts, I say stop. He keeps trying to cut non existent nails. The filing hurts, he's filing skin since my nails are now cut down below the skin way too short. He is jamming my cuticles back. He is cutting deep into my cuticles and the sides of my toes, it hurts, stop. He is buffing my skin. He is loofahing my toes and any piece of skin he can. The whole pedicure I am saying stop, too much. I do not have crusty feet, I have never had sore toes and cuticles during a pedicure. Whatever scrub/lotion he used broke my feet out - I started scratching in the salon and then could barely drive from scratching and had to come home and wash my feet. After 1.5hrs I said no thank you to a manicure. My cuticles would be bleeding if I let this man at them. Then the icing on the cake, he oils my toes to dry then decides to wipe the oil off the big toe with a tissue - big toe smudged. I AM DONE. The owner (I'm assuming) is like come in tomorrow for your mani and I will fix your toe. Why on earth would I come back tomorrow when I am here NOW and this guys has freaked up my toes???

Very understaffed and slow, two nail techs on a Friday afternoon. One customer complained about the staff's lack of knowledge while I was there and one walked out because she was tired of waiting. It took me 1 hour and 50 minutes to get a gel manicure. It's less than 24 hours later and my cuticles are catching on things, the polish is thin enough to see through and I have a broken nail. The staff was friendly, but that alone is not enough to get me to return.
