Pretty Nails in Barboursville, WV

When I first got my nails done I was very happy. I loved the design and for a girl in college the price is awesome!!! Although, I had had acrylics before, but not like these. When I first got them done I was very happy, but when I went in for a new set I wanted her to take off the old set clip my nails down and apply the new set. She basically said she didn't have time for a new set and went against my wishes. I was 20 mins early for my appointment.
So when she did the fill in they looked fine, but after about a week of having the fill in they started to hurt. I'm talking like my nails were broken underneath the nails bad. I desperately needed the nails off and she didn't have time for me. I texted a week after my vacation and she was out of town for the following two weeks. Don't get me wrong I love the environment, but I like the health of my nails more. I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon.

Nice & clean in the front but the bathroom needs to be kept. Great Covid precautions.

My appointment was at 9:30 am and Lisa and I were alone until after 10 when her husband arrived as well as the next nail appointment. During our time alone I enjoyed getting to know Lisa and hearing about her time in West Virginia amongst other things.

My pointer finger nail acrylic fell off so I just had my long nail underneath. My nails were regular polish on acrylic. Lisa drilled off the polish instead of using remover but I'm from SC and thought maybe that's what people up here do. After She finished my nails I was directed to the seats for a pedicure by her husband.

My feet were rough and awful and cut too short when I got there and he did an AMAZING job making them smooth! Amazing!!! Unfortunately during my pedicure he cut both of my big toes in the corner. The big toe on my left foot literally bled the entire pedicure and he kept spraying it with what I assume was alcohol. Lisa painted my toes after he was done.

In SC we have to sit under the fans/light for at least 15 minutes for our nails to dry but Lisa told me to stay 5 minutes. When 5 minutes was up her husband came for payment. Please see the pictures for the payment/charge issue. When he returned my card he turned off the fans and light even tho my nails were not dry. I believe this is why my thumb nail needs redone by the time I got in my car (I didn't go back in because there were 3 people waiting for pedicures and 2 for acrylics & she had told me she didn't like people discussing issues in front of clients and I knew they were too busy to fix it). Also, I chose the same nail polish brand and number that I usually use in South Carolina.

During my conversation with Lisa she had expressed to me several scenarios of folks not happy and her fix is to give their money back. Also that she didn't appreciate people saying issues they have with her in front of other clients. At that time I thought that was nice she gives money back and prefers to quietly address concerns but now I see that nothing is addressed. Please see messages.

I am posting our conversation so I don't put words in her mouth. I am giving this review NOT to dissuade people from going here but to make you aware of:

* Lisa assuming folks are out to get her and her fix is to refund money (several stories she told me plus my experience)

* Pricing discrepancies ($18 fill in + $28 pedicure should be $46 but was charged $55 - see screenshots).

* If you have terrible calloused feet her husband does an amazing job but You may bleed

* I was there from 9:30-11:30 for a mani/pedi (in the last 20 years of getting them it usually takes 1 hr to 1hr 15 minutes so be prepared to be there awhile).

* Customer service isn't her strong suit but she does great nails

* She only offered to fix my nail AFTER I reiterated that's all I wanted from the beginning

I don't think I will ever have to go to another salon! I felt totally comfortable, welcome and prioritized while getting my nails done! I have small and short nail beds and after being denied by another salon, the owner made sure that she would do her best to accommodate me. Friendly conversation AND environment! Definitely the best prices and deals in town as well! I would recommend 10 times over to anyone wanting a haircut, nails, pedicures or anything of the sorts! Will be returning!

Love this nail salon!! Definitely will be back. The owners are so very nice and respectful. Have a great choice of drinks you can choose from.they would like you to make appointment rather then just walk in, but I called and asked how busy they were and she told me booked all day, but squeezed me in when I wasn't but 5 minutes away.
