Pebble Spa in Ely, MN

Nothing feels better than going here on a cold winter day. I've had many massages here ... but the hot stone by Melissa might be my favorite. The gift shop has really great clothes, hand bags and other nice spa-ish stuff. I love that it's in a old building where the floors creak and the treatment rooms are like cozy dark mini living rooms. My daughter did the Ely Spa package and was very pleased. My sister in law had a 90 minute foot and hand massage. She was in heaven. The staff is super nice, unpretentious and know their craft. Treat yourself. Go here.

Pebble Spa is always one of my go-tos when I'm in Ely. I've loved every one of my massage therapists and always leave feeling so relaxed. Prices are super reasonable as well. For an extra treat, do the tea and truffle tasting! Even if you don't have an appointment, it's worth swinging by just for the gift shop!

My husband treated me to a 60 minute prenatal massage at The Pebble. I had an appointment with Brandy McLinn and she did not disappointment. She paid attention to all my problem areas, spent good time on my knots and was super sweet. If I didn't love so far away I would visit her often. Next time I am back in Ely I will be sure to book another hour and more with her. The Pebble is a cute little boutique too. I managed to find some stuff to take home during my shopping trip after my massage. I would definitely recommend paying The Pebble a visit anytime you are in Ely.

I've always loved Pebble, even back when they were way down on the west side of town. I love the boutique and I've gotten spa treatments here before. I visit Ely 1-2 times per year and always make it a point to stop at the Pebble and I almost always buy something. That being said, my most recent trip left me very disappointed. I was in Ely for a week in May and I made two trips to the Pebble. The first one I was alone, I'm 21 so maybe they thought I was just some teenager who didn't have money so I didn't interest the girls working but when I walked in there were 2-3 girls at the counter, not one of them said a word to me. I walked around the whole front of the store then made my way to the back. I was back there for a couple minutes looking at some sale items and the new home goods section when one of the girls came back and asked (in an unwelcoming tone) if there was something that I needed. I said no, because I had obviously been browsing. But I walked out shortly after that even though I had seen some things I had liked and wanted to try on. I ended up returning a few days later to buy a dress, sadly my customer service experience didn't get any better. No one greeted us as we walked in (I even brought my mom to see if being young was the issue) or asked if we were looking for something in particular. They also didn't ask if I wanted the three dresses I was carrying to be taken to the fitting room (I know that's not a typical "Ely" thing but if they're trying to be an upscale boutique & spa you'd think they'd have higher level of customer service than the outfitters in town). Although I did end up buying a dress, I'm not sure if I'll make another trip to the Pebble during my next trip to Ely in August. I've always known the people of Ely to be especially friendly, I guess that's not a requirement to work at the Pebble. Hopefully they work on their customer service skills before the summer season really kicks up.
