I've been coming here for over a year and only trust these ladies with my blonde hair! I am very particular and want it to look as natural as possible, and I am never disappointed :)
I've been going here for close to 10 years, I followed Eileen. She knows exactly how to do my hair, and she's a color wizard. I get stopped everyday by women asking who does my hair. All of the ladies here are really nice and are good at what they do.
THE BEST! Helen at NuYu has been helping me with my coarse curly hair for years. I go in a few times a year for keratin treatments for my unruly hair, this process takes ~3 hours but is totally worth it (before and after pics). A few days earlier, Helen did a light color balayage and blended it so nicely with my dark roots. This was my first time coloring my hair - it came out great!
When you Love your hair stylist you will drive miles!! like from... R.I.! Eileen has been my stylist for years, and when I moved it was very difficult finding someone who cut my hair the way I like it. Eileen is a professional hairstylist for sure. Way before PINK or MILEY Cyrus had their Blonde pixie cut.....Eileen designed that cut I swear, and I know....I was the ONLY one sporting it for the LONGEST time, now everyone has it! Punk all the way for me, Punk with class!! Love you Eileen.
Bad customer service. I had been seeing Jocelyn in the Concord location for a year. My color and highlights at my most recent last appointment in February went off the rails. Jocelyn used the dryer to speed up color processing even though I had been sitting for quite a while. In the end, I had extremely bright highlights around my face, no highlights in my part where I was trying to blend gray (the whole purpose of color) and then brassy hair everywhere else. I called to schedule a correction and couldn't get in for 2 weeks. Then a few days before the appointment, I get a voicemail saying Jocelyn is no longer there but the owner, Helen, can do my correction in Acton. When I arrived for my correction, I told the owner about the issues with my hair - she acknowledged it and offered to fix it with a combination of foils and toner. She almost didn't do the toner, but I insisted as that was the correction I truly needed. She finally does it, dries my hair then starts trimming it as she said it was uneven and asked who cut it last; it was Jocelyn. As we are talking, she informed me Jocelyn gave a 4 weeks notice too so Jocelyn knew she was dumping me after a crappy color. When I go to leave, she was grumbling about what to charge me and charged me $120. I was upset and she went onto to say that this was more than just toner (ironically), and she was giving me a deal. No apology for anything, just asks for more money. She totally took me for a ride - I wouldn't have let her do anything had I known she was just trying to get money out of me. I just paid $155 the week before plus tip. So now I have spent $300+ in 2 weeks and my hair looks ok. I would look elsewhere - I've never been charged for corrections nor upsold in this way.
