Nico Spalon in Morgantown, WV

If I could give a 10 star rating, I would.  I have been going to Nico Hair since 12/2017 when we relocated from Fairfax, VA.   Nico Hair was recommended to me by my daughter.  I had the best stylist in Northern VA.   I had my hair which was medium length at the time highlighted and trimmed by a gentleman who has since left the salon to open his own salon.   I decided to stay at Nico's and am happy I did.  I was introduced to Mary.  I normally go to get Highlights and trim every three-four months.   I have always been extremely happy with the outcome.  I went into the salon this past Wednesday to get my hair highlighted and trimmed.  I hadn't had my hair touched since 12/2021 die to an extended illness.  My hair on top had grown out so much that I was afraid of the outcome.  Mary made my hair look beautiful again.  Not only is Mary an amazing stylist she is also a kind and considerate person.  I have a mobility issue.  Mary moved the items she needs down to the level that I can go in the side door where there are no steps.  The only downside is that she is booked three months out.  She is definitely worth the wait.  They also have other spa services as well.  Can't wait to try a massage sometime soon.  Nico is very lucky to have such a wonderful stylist.

I called and made an emergency appointment because I had a very bad highlight process on my hair at another shop.  They scheduled me the same day.  Anthony T. did a wonderful job of correcting a bleach spot and almost white highlights.  My color is great and he was very professional. He not only fixed a terrible mistake, but also styled maybe my best color ever.  I would highly recommend to all.  Thanks so much!!!

I recently went here for a root touch up (I went blonde a few months ago). I haven't used a colorist or a salon in Morgantown for quite a few years and my usual colorist in Pittsburgh instructed me to ask for a high life at my roots instead of the usual bleach. I first went to Nico's for a consultation where I met Zach. He definitely said it was doable (a lot of other salons in the area just wanted to bleach me out). We set an appointment to do the high lift and an overall tone. On the appointment day, Zach was very pleasant and had a great energy. The high lift definitely took and after toning my hair was a perfect light honey blonde. Zach definitely knows what he is doing and is very knowledgable, and he also worked with me to keep my hair in it's usual healthy state. There are only a few reasons why I rated this place 4 stars instead of 5. While Zach absolutely takes the time to listen to his clients, I do wish he would have explained more about the process to me as we went along. For example, they used a heating tool to help process the hair quicker (pretty smart), but after a bit it turned off and I was sitting in the chair for a little while when I started getting worried that I was going to be over processed. He then came in and explained that it was just cooling down, which was a relief, but could have been taken care of before hand. The other reasons for the 4 star is that while the place is beautiful, it is pretty small. I can see it being an issue when it is crowded. Also outside of Zach, the rest of the salon staff were not the most pleasant. They weren't rude but just had a bit of an attitude as if they didn't care you were there. Other than those little things, I probably will be back to work with Zach on my hair again. Definitely not a bad salon for Morgantown.
