Memphis & Co. Salon in Metairie, LA

I'm not from here so I've been to a 1,000 different places for my hair, and I'm not super picky, but I'm almost never satisfied with the end result. However, I got my hair done here, yesterday, with a girl named, "Kaylee," and I've never been so happy!!! I knew what I wanted but I couldn't find the perfect reference pic, and she did better than what I tried explaining that I wanted! Not to mention, my hair was to my waistline when I got there, so I expected to be there at least 4 hours (the typical time I spend at hair salons), and Kaylee cut, died, washed, and styled my hair in less than 3 hours. I'll definitely be returning, and I now officially have a designated hair girl!! Would rate this place 10 stars if I could! :)

I have never negatively reviewed a place but 2 months later I'm still grieving the absolute AWFULNESS of this place. I recently moved to New Orleans so needed my hair done. I looked online and this place seemed good!
I booked an appointment with a younger blonde haired girl. I don't know her name.  She was so unprofessional and even talked about her next client to me but who cares we're all girls, right?! She asked what I was wanting done after I had already sent her pictures & described exactly what I wanted done through text. I showed her more example pictures and described again what i wanted just like I do any other place. (I've went to many different hair salons, I don't have a set girl. So I've been through this process of a new place MANY times.
She started coloring my hair and directed me to the wash area. I looked up at my hair and saw only blonde around my hairline?!?!! See attached pic. At this point my face is obviously giving a WTF reaction, so she tells me it won't come out like this. She promises it will look good. So I trust the process, right?! She washes it out, and is starting to blow dry when I realize there's absolutely no color anymore. My hair looks exactly like what I came in with. So I say something because A. That's not what I wanted, I wanted some soft blonde throughout. & B. I'm not paying close to $100 for no change. She puts more color in and we repeat the process. She goes to blow dry again and IT STILL LOOKS THE SAME up top (completely brown) but all the color is on the under layers of my hair ?! I'm now considering asking where she got her license from bc why on earth would I want all the color  UNDERNEATH my hair when everybody sees the top.... At this point her next client has come in, I had to cancel another apt I had that day, and I had to have lunch ordered to this place because I had been there for so long... some other sweet ladies in the salon see that this girl is obviously struggling on my hair and I am NOT happy. They try to help, we repeat the process for a third time. I'm thinking my hair is probably totally damaged at this point but she'll definitely get it right this time!! 3rd time should be a charm  not to mention at this point I had been there for TEN HOURS. yes you read that right. And had to pay full price. Over $275 for the absolute worst hair I have EVER gotten.
Please refer to how awful my hair looks in my engagement photos.... I'm so unhappy. I also shared my experience with 2 other friends who also both had horrible experiences, but with a different girl. Totally unimpressed with this place and I hope this review can help them....

I met with Kelly and the appointment was for a transformative change from long hair to short. Kelly was awesome and she did a great job! She also educated me about a few things along the way. Thanks Kelly!

Was searching for someone who could reinstall my extensions in the way I like (I'm picky I'm sorry ). Efficient and fast and good prices. Will be setting up my next maintenance visit soon. Really was a great experience I have no complaints at all. Please book here and give it a try if y'all are looking for extensions or to go blonde :)

Beautiful work, wonderful attitudes, chic atmosphere, good prices.  What more could one ask for?  You've gotta try Memphis & Co Salon!
