Majestic Nails & Hair in Kailua-Kona, HI

I should have listened to the negative reviews, as my friend and I went to Majestic for a pedicure earlier this week.  My friend who already posted (Molly R.) had a very bad experience and service.  And while my technician was attentive and overall provided a good service for me, I didn't get the paint color I thought I chose (which I could have lived with) but having only been two days since the service, the polish is already chipping, which in my mind shouldn't happen with a $60 pedicure.
In following my friend's response, we returned to the nail salon the next day and requested a redo on the polish for both of us, yet I was quite appalled that an owner would raise her voice and speak to a customer the way she did.  That was completely unnecessary and very unprofessional.

NOT MAJESTIC...The opportunity to leave a below 1 star would be desired for my review.  I have just left Majestic after being mistreated for expressing my concern that the pedicure I received was not what was advertised or what I paid for... along with other issues.  I tried discussing privately first to give Majestic the opportunity to make things right,  however the woman who "claimed" to be the manager / owner  also happened to be my technician for pedicure and she became incessant that I would suggest she did what she did.  Firstly, my time was cut 30 minutes short. ( she argued that she always gives more time implying she is attentive to details and quality. )  I paid for the Majestic ( along with my cousin ) . My cousin's pedicure lasted 60 minutes mine was barely 30.  Secondly, nail technician trimmed my nails at odd angles, cut me when using the cuticle trimmers, the polish is clumpy on my finished nails & I have polish left on my toe skin,  she used cuticle oil to massage my legs and feet, didn't wipe off the cuticle oil before applying the polish, and left the bottom of my feet slick.   All things that are from a rushed job, lack of care. This is an assembly line "NEXT!" ( Seinfeld reference ) establishment. If you'd like to roll the dice and gamble that you won't get for your technician the same as mine, don't say you weren't warned if your luck comes up short and you end up paying over $60 for a similar experience. I'd like to repeat that , I tried to give an opportunity privately before posting my review.  When "owner" asked what she could do , I asked that at the very least for my polish to be painted again. She said "no". Then asked me again "what do you want me to do?" My reply was "since you won't repolish will you refund a portion of my service for time cut short etc etc. She said "no".  I don't think I have to say that her voice was elevated and aggressive, yet just to be perfectly clear this too happened.

Went there to remove my acrylic nails, & get a manicure. Lady nancy Ripped them off instead of soaking them. After multiple times telling her it was sore she insisted that it was "faster" and continued to rip them off. she did such a horrible job on my manicure, polish all over my cuticles because she was RUSHING!. at the end of service, she charged me SO MUCH for such shitty service. I got charged the amount i would have got charged for A fill. I SHOULD HAVE JUST GOTTEN A FILL, if i knew how shitty and ugly my nails were gonna look like after she was done.

So, a while back I got my daughter a fill here for her winter formal. It was our first time here. Nails were awful. Polish all over the cuticle, uneven. A mess. We tried to ask her to go shorter but she wouldn't. Design not as requested. Awful, and 70 without tip. I had to go home and fix them for my daughter with my home gel kit, and they looked a lot better after I did them myself. Please understand that I am not a nail tech, or even remotely in this industry. So if I can do a better job painting nails with an Amazon gel kit than a nail tech, you know that there's something wrong with the service.
Fast forward about 10 months, I decided to give them a try again thinking that perhaps my daughter just got a bad tech or came on a bad day. I always always always go to the same place in Oahu where I spend four days a week for work nearly every week. But I really needed a fill, and I wasn't going to Oahu this week so I decided to get a fill at this salon. I requested a light pinkish cat eye style (pic) I showed the tech the picture, and asked her if they could do something like this...and she said it was no problem. Needless to say it didn't work out at all and when the cat eye technique failed, she blamed it on me saying that it was out of style and that's why it wasn't working. I don't know if she meant that the materials were old or what- but effectively Instead of asking me what I wanted to do instead, she decided to leave me with a Black nail (which was initially being used as the base of the cat eye technique she was doing that didn't work.) I work in an office and I don't go in with dark or bold colored nails. So ultimately having a full set of solid black nails is really not appropriate, and I really didn't want it, but she didn't ask and I just let her finish because she was clearly rushing as more and more people entered the salon. if she had done at least a nice job with a solid color, I might've left feeling OK but I had polish all over my cuticles and adhering my nails to the sides of my fingers on all 10 fingers. It looks like a child did my nails. Once again, I had to go home and fix a nail job that cost me $90. Again bear in mind that I get manicures every two weeks in Oahu at a top salon and the cost to me for a Mani-Pedi with acrylic and gel is $140ish with tip and they are consistently top-notch with me rarely ever having to so much as correct something with a nail file. I basically had a buff all of my nails down and replace the gel topcoat and go around all of my fingers with a file to try to get the polish and acrylic off of my cuticles and the sides of my nails. I don't know how anybody can allow a client to leave their salon looking like this. It doesn't at all look like a professional job. There's no way that I would ever return because I literally at this point have demonstrated more than once I can do a better job myself at home polishing my nails that I can wasting 100 at this place.

Even my big guy loved my nails. I am very picky and they always do such a GREAT job, check out that line work. All of the staff are friendly. This is a very clean salon and it doesn't even smell like a nail salon which is something that they pride themselves in. The chairs are cozy and the spa options are just right to spoil yourself. Give them a try.
