Luxury Nails & Spa in New Bern, NC

This salon is a complete hit or miss. Only two people  there (one of which is the owner himself) can actually do nails. The owner's wife has a disgusting attitude and the nail artists there don't even know how to do a simple French tip. I came in wanting a French tip pedicure with a soft pink base. The nail artist gave me this nasty hot pink color and didn't even try to get the French correct. The owner's wife had to take over for her and she was extremely rude, and when I asked to change the color of my base, she looked at me like I was stupid not once, not twice, but three times. She yanked my feet around the entire time, ripping the toe separators from my feet and messed up the shape of my toes when she was done rushing the subpar paint job. I've come in once before and gotten the same thing executed perfectly by one nail artist and she was very kind, and gave me great advice for my nails, so I tipped her very well. I will not be coming back after this last experience. I've already told my friends and family and from what I've gathered from talking to them is that this salon is known for having terrible service! I've already purchased my own gel nail supplies and will be doing my own nails from now on.

I'm surprised they even have 2 1/2 stars. When I walked in, and I thought WOW I've never seen so much nail polish in my life, this place must be good! Until I realized that they were collectors of nail polish in which some bottles must have been dated back to the 1990s and were diluted with nail polish remover. sigh. I will say this if it is URGENT and you must get your nails done...then Luxury Nails Spa might be the place for you. However, if you're looking for quality customer service and quality results...then I would definitely not recommend Luxury Nail Spa. If you don't value your product, you don't value your customers. End of story

Follow up: The owner contacted me to make things right because I was not satisfied with my service. Spoke with the manager, he offered a refund only if u deleted my original review. I went to get my refund, never got it, I was told that my money was nothing to them. Maybe the melanin was the cause of my 15min pedi, no refund, and lack of respect for my money. Today was the last time I visit Luxury Nails. The level of rudeness from the owner's wife at the desk was completely unacceptable. After a very wonderful pedicure, the owner did my French SNS manicure, and it's sloppy with rough edges. He sat me in a chair to "dry" and went to eat his lunch ( I could see him) and never came back. I tipped the wonderful pedicurist ,Tiffany,with cash, and paid for the rest at the reluctant check out with the  nasty wife- who gave me a begrudging look when I asked for some hand lotion, because I never received any. Horrible.
Go to Jan Nails- they are kind people.

I have been using LuxuryNails for the last five years. I have been a good customer. I estimate I have spent over $6000 during that time. As the years have passed the owners have become more rude, not very accommodating (I have recently had a foot issue and requested that attention be paid and my request was ignored. I requested nothing out of reason.)
Today was the final draw. I went in on Monday to have my nails (acrylic) redone. it was completely unsatisfactory, They were done by the male owner. They were ridiculously thick and bumpy. They did not cover the nail bed. When I got home within two hours the polish of 4 nails had chipped. Three nails were separating and there was space between the nail and the acrylic. That's an infection waiting to happen.
I texted on Tuesday morning letting the owner know that this was not satisfactory. I haven't had acrylic for years but did have them for about 10 years and never saw anything like this. I sent photos of the condition of my nails. I asked them to be repaired or my money refunded. They were closed that day so I call today and made an appointment. I went in at the time expected and was told it would be a 20 minute wait. I could not wait that long and requested a refund of $60.
The male owner started yelling at me and laughing to other customers. I promised them I would write a review and would make sure I posted on FB. As I'm walking out the door a woman comes in and makes a request and the level of rudeness to her was pretty awful as well.
I will never go back and recommend you try some place else. That was definitely the last straw. They are the only salon I have used for years and they are probably where my feet problems originated.
