LookAfter Hair Company in St Charles, MO

I've been to this location twice and Krystal cut my hair both times. I figured out what I wanted for my cut last night, and she gave me the best haircut I've ever had in my life! I've always cut my own hair because I've had sole bad experiences, but now Krystal is the only person I trust with my hair. She's also so friendly and makes the time there comfortable :) Dana is also very friendly and I love talking with her while I'm there. Thanks Krystal and Dana :)

I have gone to this location for 10 years now, I've seen great hairstylist come and go but regardless of the new people who cut my hair it's normally great. I can no longer recommend this location due to untrained and out of touch stylist they have on staff. After arriving for a haircut and wax the stylist shampooed my hair and began the wax by the time she was done one brow was so thin and uneven while the other one was not finished in the center and a half inch extra taken from the end of it. If you can't perform the services requested be honest and don't attempt it. This didn't just waste my gas money and day off but will cost me 6 months to regrow my eye brows back out to normal and even.

I have been to the other location in Arnold and absolutely loved it. Always left super satisfied with how my hair turned out. Sad to say, not at this location. I went in and was greeted by who assumed was the head stylist. She seemed annoyed that I was even there. Not only that but after one of her customers left, proceeded to trash talk them in-front of me.

I tried to talk to both women at the counter about what I wanted and was passed on to another hairdresser. She was friendly, but had issues understand what I was looking for. I kept trying to share the picture of what I was looking for but it didn't have to be exact.

She started cutting on one side and when she started on the other side I saw her eyes pop open. That's when I knew she messed up bad. This happened a second time after she asked the head hairdresser to come look at my highlights after she washed it out.

My hair came out a lot shorter than what I was looking for. And the highlights are uneven. I have to comb my hair different directions to hide the brighter patches.

Now granted, my hair is rather difficult to deal with. It is thick and has natural waves. But with my hairdresser having 20 years experience I was expecting a little more understanding on how to deal with different textures of hair and the spring that comes with curly hair when it is cut.

If it wasn't for how friendly my hairdresser was I would have walked out after I heard the other woman talking bad about her customer. I do not think I will be coming back to this location.

Horrible uneven haircut. It was supposed to be one length and it's an uneven bob with long pieces in the front. Sub par costumer service made me feel weird and like she didn't want to be there. I won't mention her name for her benefit as I don't want to destroy a career but I also don't want people to go back and get a shitty cut so if you're reading this you know who you are and you need to work on some stuff big time. I didn't say anything after I got it bc I was like ok what's the point but it was also way shorter than I wanted, it was like she didn't get that curly hair curls up? Don't recommend. Especially if you have curly hair--pay the big bucks to go to a curly girl salon instead.

Thur: my hair is fine. Fri: Aaaaaack! I need a haircut.

That was me, with no place to go. My beloved beautician at a certain salon had moved on to other things, and I was sans stylist. My long locks were getting shaggy, and not in a Jennifer Aniston/Friends-style. More like a Scooby Doo style. I called LookAfter (which I think is a dumb name) late on Friday night and got an appointment for the next day.

LookAfter takes walk-ins, but appointments mean you don't have to wait some unknown period of time. My noon appointment got me right in. I heard other folks having a queue from 1-3 individuals.

First, how many of us want to stick our hands into a stranger's hair? We freak out when there's one hair in our food--even if it's ours. So hooray for these courageous coiffure creators. My stylist was Erica, recently new to the Zumbehl location but not new to LookAfter.  Erica loves doing hair and has wanted to since she was a kid. She was friendly and professional.

Erica provided a great shampoo. I just need a trim and some layers cleaned up. Simple enough, if you know what you're doing. Happily, she did. A few products and a quick blow dry, and I was done.

Since this was my first visit, I can't provide feedback about all their services like coloring, but if you're in need of basic services, or even just a quick trim, you'll find them here.  They do eyebrows, too. Maybe I'll get those done next time.
