Lavilash by Janice,LLC in Kailua-Kona, HI

I was initially very hesitant to go to this location because of poor reviews. However, a previous customer had Krystel and said she was great, so I gave it a chance. I am so glad I did because I was on my honeymoon and my lashes were ROUGH. They were super accommodating with my schedule and time requests DAY OF! Krystel was super sweet and very good. My eyelashes look amazing thanks to her!

Janice is pretty overpriced for the quality of work done. The first time I got lashes from her, they looked good and I didn't have any reactions to the glue however she got a huge chunk of glue stuck in my hair. When I came back for my refill, I got chemical pink eye due to the fumes of the glue and when I asked Janice about it she said that it was normal. News flash, ITS NOT. I wouldn't trust anyone near my eyes that think that a red inflamed eye that hurts everytime I blink is normal for lash extensions. I went to see Sarah at Blink and Brows after for way cheaper and never had any reactions to the glue.

Lash technician was very friendly and patient. I recently moved to Kona and looking for new lash salon. I had my fills done half a week ago. They came out fairly well but I have been noticing more lashes than usual falling out and almost all the lashes that fell off so far have my own lashes still stuck to them.  I'm concerned my lashes will be non-existent by the time I normally go back in for a fill. I don't know if it is the glue or the technique applying them that is to blame. Depending on how they respond to this review and their customer service I may or may not be going back here. I will update on their customer service:

Salon did not answer my concerns regarding the fact that I have never had my extensions fall off WITH my natural lashes still on them. I have no changed anything about how I take care of them of my daily lifestyle. In fact, I haven't even once tried to brush my lashes. I was shown a picture of my lashes being overgrown. Not of improper application or too much glue. There was also no mention of them making an exception for me to get fills done.  I've never once had a problem with a salon taking me in to do my fills that isn't their work. It seems like a lame excuse to me.

What I'm not quite understanding is why my previous work did not have my natural lashes falling off still stuck to my extensions But I am seeing that with this salon's work. In the past, I would see extensions falling off but not with my natural lashes still glued to them.  I would also see my natural lashes fall off later on when there were no extensions attached.  This time around I am seeing extensions still attached to natural lashes falling off.  And in sets of 3-4.  Right now it is my 7th day with my new extensions and my lashes look the way it took 3 week for my last pair to lose lashes. I am extremely concerned and yet this salon does not seem to be taking this as seriously or taking responsibility for their work. I'm hoping this salon will come around as the the technician was very nice but bad work is bad work and not making sure your clients are happy or taking responsibility for your work is bad customer service.

Extremely happy and lucky I found this oasis gem. The spot itself is amazing to be in.... always smells wonderful, their music selection is relaxing, tranquil & gives you complete girl vibes.... very very comfortable bed.. I always knock out when i'm getting my lashes done. I've gone to Krystal about three times now and she always makes my lashes beyond beautiful! and she's incredibly talented & sweet!!! I highly recommend janice's studio and couldn't ask for a better place to go to.

So, I booked an appointment last night (9/10/17) at 11:04 p.m. with Lavilash by Janice for today (9/11/17) at 11:00 a.m. to have my lashes done.

I received a text at 9:47 a.m. from Lavilash by Janice (9/11/17) saying that the individual I booked with was not available until 12:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. and so they asked if I could reschedule. I politely told them that 12:30 p.m. would be fine (meanwhile keep in mind I am a client driving from Hilo so I had to be ready and on the road at 9:00 a.m. to make it to my appt. at 11:00 a.m....which had now been postponed to 12:30 p.m.). Either way I was excited so I was willing to wait and just did a little shopping while I waited.

Now...everything about my lash appointment was good (I thought) until I got home and later realized there was eyelash adhesive in my hair. There is a section of my hair that is stuck together and there is no way of getting this out. For all of you ladies keep in mind I had all of my hair in a bun so how the lash technician got this in my hair blows my mind. The worst part is I have really long curly hair and now I have to chop it off.

To top this off it was obvious that the lash technician knew that she got this in my hair because of the way the hair was stuck together. It was like she tried to wipe it off but couldn't get it out and so instead of telling me she just sent me on my merry way.

I spent $200+ dollars and left a very nice tip only to get home and find glue in my hair. I'm honestly really disappointed.
