Debbie was amazing, I was in town for a wedding and had booked with a previous salon and they canceled on me leaving me less than 24 hours to find someone else. I contacted Debbie and she arranged for one of her stylist Marin to come to my hotel for hair and make-up. Marin was amazing she made me feel beautiful! Thank you! If ever in Waikiki again I will definitely be making another appointment!
Awesome massage I will definitely be back ... Thank you Grant your the best Great service everyone was friendly ...great customer service
It was a true spahhhh day! Raequel was truly amazing. Her years of experience shine through her massage styles. I would say her massage style was a cross between Thai, deep tissue, and lomi lomi. After 80 minutes of bliss, she also had done my facial. Again, she did a great job. My face is soft and glowing. I then was greeted and walked to the salt room. They had a cold wash rag, cool water and a piece of chocolate covered macadamia nut. I've been to salt caves before, so their salt room was a bit underwhelming. It was a bunch of salt lamps and salt stones in the room. Overall, it was a great experience!
I'm visiting town and instead of going to my usual spot that I found during my last visit, decided to splurge for my husband and I since we are celebrating our anniversary next month. Found a deal on Groupon and the owner was really great and made booking over the phone, within a week, very easy which I appreciated. We settled for a 125 min package that came with an 80 min massage, 25 min facial, and 20 min salt lounge experience. I was so excited to surprise my husband with this splurge and perhaps that's where it all went wrong... having such high expectations.
The location of the spa is easy to find, at the outrigger reef. The facilities are limited but iff you're staying at the resort or nearby, sufficient. The problem I had was the massage. I have been to so many places all over the world and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had! :( I liked how we were able to select our own scent before going to the room, but then a number of things went wrong.
1. Masseuse never introduced herself to me to review my intake form. I only met my husband's masseuse. Forgot my husband's masseuse's name but know mine was Gina because that's what the other lady said.
2. Pillow for my feet wasn't offered. I awkwardly laid on my belly
3. Room was way too cold so during the massage, perhaps the "nicest" thing my masseuse did was throw (literally, throw) another blanket on top of d me
4. When I flipped over she put a towel on my face that didn't even cover my eyes, rendering it pointless.
5. Masseuse only had one technique - pressure points throughout the entirety of the massage until I finally had to tell her to stop because my involuntary leg kicks because I was in pain wasn't a hint to her. I think she was confused with me liking pressure to my massage with pressure only at the pressure points. It was the oddest massage I ever had and I kept wondering if anyone had ever given a massage like this to her and whether she would actually like it. Whatever it was, it's the first massage I would have left early had it not been for my husband who fell asleep during his treatment.
6. Masseuse has a weird clicking noise... teeth chattering? Very distracting the entire service.
As abruptly as my massage started, it ended. Mostly at the prompting of my husband's masseuse who politely told him the session was over. Mine just sort of walked away and then came back to ask if I wanted something to drink.
Then when I was about to get up to put my robe on after she left the room she came back in without knocking to tell me I needed to stay for my facial and my husband could wait in the salt lounge..
My heart sank as I stayed in place with cold, wet towels on my wet massage table, waiting for my facial to begin. Then my masseuse came back in and told me she would be doing my facial. Omg!! I couldn't believe it. She also awkwardly gave me hot tea while I was in bed and said she'd turn around to let me drink the tea and to let her know when I was done. It was so awkward.
The facial wasn't much better. Got slapped around for 25 min which was better than having her do actual extractions, I suppose. And the salt lounge was ok as I waited for my husband and it gave me a chance to start this review.
Moral of the story is, in my opinion, this place isn't worth what it charges, especially because of the 20% mandatory gratuity and state tax. Only saving grace is that I did a Groupon deal? But I wish I would have saved my money altogether and gotten at least 3 treatments from what I paid to go to another local place with truly epic massages.
Hope this review helps others! Save your money! +1 star for Debbie the owner being nice, and the masseuses being courteous and I think, really trying to please. Too bad the technique and quality of services (and a bit of a language barrier) were just a miss for me.
Very poor reception service for hotel guests. With no one else in the reception area, I waited over ten minutes while the receptionist spoke on the phone with someone making an appointment. It would have been easy to put that person on hold for a minute and ask why I was there. I finally just left, feeling that if front-line service is this poor, why should I expect anything better from the services. Walk down the street.
