La Bella Nails & Spa in Port Angeles, WA

Living in Port Ángeles it is extremely difficult to find a good nail salon, but after trying out a few the only "decent" place would be La Bella. Right off the bat, this place wasn't super clean, and smells very strong of chemicals, nail fumes etc. I will say in my 10 times going here I usually always leave happy with my nails, but never very satisfied with the price. They almost always give me exactly what I want, and I end up loving it, but it can get VERY expensive, especially for acrylics. More specifically, I asked for medium coffin nails with triangle French tip and a jewel on the end. She did a great job, and I loved the nails but when it came time to pay the nails were $95 and I ended up paying a grand total of $110 with a tip. I will say yea she did do a good job but anywhere else these nails should only be worth maybe $70 with a tip at the very highest. Overall this place is the only alright nail place for port angeles, they are pretty good with appointments, and the nails turn out almost always pretty decent, but if your looking for affordable nails, I wouldn't recommend this place.

I just got my nails done there today, a full set, short, black tips. They looked beautiful; they charged me $75 for the service however, I didn't ask questions but this seemed very high, and bothered me enough to call back later to just ask what made the price so high. This cost more than my haircut at the salon plus tip. I reminded her they look great, I'm just curious about the price breakdown as their sign said otherwise for French tips. The woman on the phone was incredibly rude and said "if you don't like them how about you come back and I'll take them off!" I laughed and said that's not what I'm saying, they look great, but that price is very high and I'm just asking WHY they were $75 is all. She explained that to change from a white tip to black tip is an extra $10 and I should have asked first. As a customer just inquiring about the price, being treated that way is absolutely ridiculous and I have the right to ask a question even if I liked how they turned out. Coming from a city to this small town, I've never paid $75 plus a tip for a full set of short French tips. I will not return for a fill and will seek elsewhere. Your customers deserve clear signs of what to expect, and to be treated with respect if they call to ask a question, especially since I clearly stated, the nails look great! That wasn't my concern!

As others have said, the quality here is better than most. However, they are contantly overbooked with too few nail techs and techs running back and forth between clients. I have been going there for six months and even brought my friends. It has always been difficult to make an appointment. Today was the end! I arrived a few minutes early for my fill appointment and was told my appointment was cancelled because one of the girls had a emergency. She said she called but my mailbox wasn't set up....an out and out fabrication..no call registered on my phone. OK Let's reschedule. There's a spot in a couple of days so that works. But then the shock...the woman, loudly and in front all the clients and staff told me she would do it this time but if I "gave her a hard time" she wouldn't see me again....whoa! Where did that come from! The last time I was there took 1 1/2 hours to do a set of acrylic nails....it took so long because she was skipping back and forth between me and another client. I waited patiently for her to finish and didn't complain when she actually cut my finger by using the incorrect head on her grinder. We all have bad days but this is an epic fail in customer relations. There are other nail places in Port Angeles. Don't spend your time and money here to receive shoddy customer service and rampant disrespect!

I want to start by saying that the work here is definitely quality work. I would give 5 stars if not for the experience I just had and due to poor coordination when scheduling. The people that work here are nice enough and do great work in a pretty reasonable amount of time. I gave this a three star rating because I feel as though their scheduling system needs some significant improvement. I scheduled an appointment two days in advance, and while on the phone I waited while she checked the schedule and listened while she tried to figure out the best time for me to come in. After a couple min she said 3 o'clock was when I should show up. I arrived at 2:25, quite early for my appointment and was told that I was late and that someone had tried calling me to see if I was still coming. I did not receive a phone call and I even proved that by showing my call log. What's really frustrating. Is that at my previous appointment I asked her to schedule my fill for two weeks but she refused saying just call and we'll get you on the schedule. The problem with this is when I call at the time that I need a fill there's either a 3 to 4 sometimes six days wait for me to be even offered an appointment. I am impressed by the quality of work that is done in this salon however, in my very humble opinion, they need to improve on scheduling, I cleared my afternoon for this appointment and perhaps if they're in the habit of calling people when they're running late, they should consider calling people the day before to remind them especially if there is confusion about when that appointment is supposed to take place. Ironically, though, when I arrived, there was only one person in the salon, getting a manicure with two technicians working. My daughter and I have gone together to have our nails done, and they had one tech working between the two of us. Why that couldn't have occurred today is beyond me since I'm just one person and only needed a fill with no special designs or anything fancy. If one person can work between two customers why on earth couldn't I just get a fill and continue coming to this establishment for the quality of work that I look for when getting these types of services. I do not plan to return to this business. While I love the work and I really need to emphasize this, It is not worth the trouble if I have to call every time I need a fill when they're usually done on a two week schedule and should be scheduled at the time of my appointment. Their poor scheduling tells me they should hire somebody that can help to schedule these appointments instead of scheduling them while you're on the phone working on someone's nails. It's easy for scheduling confusion to take place when you're working on someone's manicure while also looking at your appointment book with your phone on your shoulder talking to the customer you have on the phone trying to schedule. A good consumer experience is paramount for these kinds of establishments, and while yes nail salons come a dime a dozen, the quality of work at this establishment is exactly why people continue to go there even after having a negative experience regarding the time and dates of their appointments or confusion during scheduling. I will not be one of of these people. It is not worth it to me to spend $65 for a fill when it is so difficult for me to just make an appointment in the first place and then show up to that appointment to be told that I missed the appointment when in fact, there was substantial confusion about the exact appointment time in the first place, I beg of you Labelle nails please do better at making sure your customers have exactly the right information regarding the appointment times that you expect them to show up. I showed up at 2:35 for what I was told was at 3 o'clock. I know you are extremely busy and I know you are understaffed and have families and things that are going on in your personal lives but as a business, as a service you provide to a community that clearly appreciates the quality of work that you offer I really implore you to maybe consider bringing someone in to help you with your scheduling needs so that things like this can be avoided. I'm really disappointed that I wasn't able to get my fill done today especially since it's a week over due because of the reasons I just mentioned.

I haven't tried other nail salons in PA but saw good reviews on google so thought I'd stop by and finally get a pedicure. They are very busy! Be sure to call and make an appointment. Although I did like my nails and the massage, I wonder if things wouldn't feel so rushed if there were either more nail techs or if they didn't book so many people so close together. Otherwise, really nice people. Great massage chairs! Good attention to detail on my toes and really nice massage, both by hand and with hot stones.
