Top rated for value and friendliness. While this establishment has changed over the years through different owners and such, it is still my favorite spot to grab a quick haircut. I never have to wait (if I go at the right time), the price for a haircut at $9 is yet to be beat, and the women there are friendly. It's a $9 haircut people! You get what you pay for. I usually get #1 on the sides and the back with a fade, sometimes trim on the top and they do it just fine.

Seriously? These reviews are awful!! I've gotten my hair done multiple times here with Diana. She's freaken awesome. I understand that every girl needs to find a hair stylist that they can trust. && I've certainly found mine. I mean my hair comes out looking good every time! Trust me people, hair is a BIG deal, even if it grows out! See this is where my review makes sense, when my hair grows out, it looks even nicer! I get compliments on it all the time, NO JOKE. I mean you can't beat consistency, class, and style. Have heard of Diana at Lilys? Well you better ask somebody! I send all my friends there now & I think you should try too! Oh, and she doesn't charge you an arm & a leg for her services. Just FYI

I went here to get a haircut early last Thursday because it was inspection day with ROTC. The place I usually go to doesn't open til 10 or so and I didn't have time to wait around. I was a little skeptical at first but decided to give this place a chance. The place seemed pretty nice and clean. There was another person ahead of me getting a haircut so I waited. A few minutes later, a lady came into work and asked if I wanted a haircut. I said yes and got in the chair. This lady works the middle station behind the cash register. She ask how did I want it cut. I told her that I want a 0 fade high and tight. She grabbed the clipper and took a little off on the sides. I just let her do her thing. After a while I realize that she didn't know what she was doing, I told her to go higher. She seemed surprised but she complied, sort of. She barely graced the sides again with the clipper. WTF. High and tight!!! If she has never heard of it, then ask!!! I got fed up and just let her finish. I got out of the chair when she was done and went to pay. The other two barbers immediately commented on the back of my head and said something about it not being straight. She askedme to come back to the chair and began to even things out. The other two barbers checked me again and it was a lot better than before, still it was not high and tight. I paid $9 for the cut and $5 for tip. If you want a haircut that you'd like, don't go here, especially if you want a fade 0. If you do, you'll need to waste a few bucks to find the right person. Needless to say, I will not come back here for another haircut.

As of the 1st July 2011 the sales tax is: Santa Clara County 8.250 % in San Jose* Mani-Ped $20.00 Hair Cut $09.00 Sub Total $29.00 Tax = $02.39 This is at 8.25 % Even at 9.25 % the tax is only $02.68. Total $31.39 They charged me $32.00 which is $00.61 over the going tax rate. And this is not the first time! They did it every time I was there. I said make it $42.00 that included my tip which is way too generous already. I am charged on my bank statement the $42.00 plus $00.32 which makes the total cost $42.32. WHY? Are they greedy and wanted all $10.00 of the tip? I was overcharged $00.61 already so why the $00.32! I don't think this is done purposely but it is more of not knowing the basic mathematical skills of addition and/or reading the tax tables. This is my third visit and yes the ladies are polite and some speak enough English to get by. Amy can cut hair but one lady does not know how to cut hair, go with Amy. The manicure was too close the first time, my bad, I should have said something and I did tell her the second time it was too close and she made the nails longer which helped. Both times the toe nails were not cut straight. The right foot was good but on the left foot the nails are crooked. The fingers are OK. I AM VERY ANGRY AND I WON'T BE BACK!

Very friendly people. Very good customer service. Immediately after having a very bad experience at Haircare just down the road, I arrived at Lilys. I was hesitant to even walk in after being so frustrated with the horrible customer experience at Haircare. But, immediately, I could feel the warmth and friendliness of all the people inside. They welcomed everyone individually, gave genuine goodbyes, and even gave my daughter attention as I got my hair cut. Anna, the stylist who cut my hair, was very attentive to detail and to my wishes. The really cool thing is that my wished are always to just make me look like what looks good to you. I realize that is very subjective and intimidating, but Anna did a great job of it. It is a different haircut than I have been getting, so I am interested in gathering opinion from some of my more blunt friends. The only reason I don't give a 5, is because I have to return several times to be sure. 4 is the top score I can possibly give for first time. Importantly, it was a great experience, just like any salon should be: a place to relax and feel at home. Props!
