Wasted Time going here. Emma stylist: rude, doesn't listen to client's request and way way way over charged. Screwed up my hair. Ridiculous. Don't go here/ definitely don't schedule with Emma.

My husband hates getting his hair cut and it's not easy finding someone he likes. He saw Dean after over a year of not getting a cut due to the pandemic. All I did was show Dean pictures of how my husband usually looks with his hair freshly cut and he knew exactly what to do. Previously when we did this with other stylists, we would still be asked how he wanted it cut and it didn't always come out right. So to have someone with this kind of experience execute perfectly was a relief for us. And my husband liked him so he might actually get a haircut regularly from now on.

I used to love this salon. I grew up as a kid getting my hair cut here. But boy I didn't know any better until I got older. I hadn't been in a while until recently I went to get my nails done for a wedding. It ended up being the worst manicure ever. First off the place is so filthy. They have a very tiny nail room in the salon and it's so dirty. Their nail supplies sit on nasty tables that look like they have never been cleaned. The towel she used under my hands was COVERED in hair. Those towels are clearly washed with towels they probably use on hair. The hair was sticking to my gel nail polish over and over. Their nail polish looked so old all of them were separating in the bottles. Their UV lamp was covered in nail polish and the inside looked and felt like it had never been cleaned. She used the same hair covered hand towel on me and the person I was with. She used two bowls to soak my hand in and the water was so hot I couldn't put my fingers in it. The person I was with soaked next and her water was cold. She did not do my cuticles and she didn't even have nail clippers. Her nail file was very old and very used. She asked what shape of nail I wanted then did the total opposite. She buffed my nails and started painting without brushing off the nail dust. She started to paint and did not 100% cover any single one of my nails on either hand. This is one of my biggest issues. It is SO obvious she didn't paint the sides of my nails and down close to my cuticles. One of my nails is literally half painted. She got up and down so many times to be with other clients every time she came back she forgot what she was doing. She painted my left hand with the top coat and forgot to put it under the UV light but did it to the right hand. She used the same tools on me and the person I was with. She didn't clean a single thing in between us. She didn't use gloves or wash her hands in between me and the other person. I would guess that their tools have never been cleaned or it's been awhile. She put my hand in the UV light with a hair stuck in the polish so there is a hair stuck in there by the UV light that won't come out. I am so disappointed by all of this. I am hoping I nor anyone else gets fungus from this place. I won't be coming back here, sadly. I love this business because it's a lovely family but my goodness it is so unprofessional and so unclean I would never suggest this place to anyone. :(

Worst experience with a hair dresser in my life. To my surprise I got my hair cut by the 18 year old owners daughter, Megan, who graduated from hair dressing school only months before!! I thought maybe I'd be getting my hair done by someone a little more experienced but I was wrong. Anyways she completely botched my hair. The layers in my hair came out to be completely uneven; cut on one side and the other side seriously 4-5 inch's longer when compared. This girl had absolutely NO REGARD to what she was doing to my hair and basically blindly chopped around for five minutes all the while acting uninterested and snobby. Needless to say I was fighting back tears while in that chair. When I look in the mirror I cringe at the awkward dent she cut into my hair. And did I mention the bill they gave me at the end was $250 which was a surprise to me but according to them the price is at their discretion when there is any length or thickness to your hair. Other than that everyone else seemed skilled and there was a friendly atmosphere and the owners seemed nice.

I hate getting my hair done. How's that for a beginning of a review? That being said, three stars from me is a pretty high rating for anything beauty-related. I liken it to rating a dentist... you never want to give five stars to some guy who tortures you in a chair for the better part of two hours. I've been going to Keeley's for years because it is right in the middle of (now my parent's) hometown. The owners, Dean and Erin, are great stylists and always remember all of their customers' names. Not an easy feat in Penn Hills. Frankly, the other stylists are a mixed bag. Some are adept, others not so much. The reason why I don't give them four stars (again, my max for all things beauty) is twofold. 1. Every time I ask someone at Keeley's their professional opinion on how I should get my hair cut, styled, colored, etc... they are silent. I'm clueless in this area! A little help, please? 2. I've gotten my strands highlighted a few times and I was never really happy with the result. Number 2 is most likely a result of number 1. For a trim or quick cut, Keeley's is great. I also recall them doing lovely updos for my high school formals. For all other things hair-related, I'm still on the search for a go-to stylist.
