JJ Nail Spa, Inc. in Laurel, MD

I've been going to them for over 8 years now, mostly for pedicures, and it was great. On the rare occasions that I got my nails (acrylic) done I used Le(sorry to see her go). I recently had both done by Holy, the nails are horrible, CHUNKY and uneven, very mediocre, and aside that it's barely a week but it's started wearing off. Wasted money. If I do go back, it will be for just pedicures. Oh and after choosing the color I wanted, I was given a different color for my nails, and was told most people don't complain so I could've kept it.

I went to JJ Nail Salon a few weeks ago. This salon is extremely unsanitary. When they are doing your nails, the will bring a small plastic bowl, bring the bowl over to you and that's it. They use (1) sheet of a paper towel to put on the filthy working table. Now, knowingly, this is not condusive. The water penetrates in no time through the paper towel. Now, I had to literally double the paper towel myself for sanitary purposes. Then the cuticle clipper had not been soaked in the Barbicide solution. The nail technician just pulled this out of her drawer, not even in a plastic packaging and begun to clip my cuticles. Then as far as the nail buffer, the original one that the technician retrieved in her drawer, was full of dead skin cells for many usages prior to me. I asked that she use a new buffer. I did not get a pedicure, however, the tubs are filthy. During COVID they are using a flimsy cheap plastic shield down near the technician doing your pedicure. They do not even put plastic in the tub during COVID. This is very unhealthy. I noticed that they have a "Certificate of Completion" for COVID-19. However, there is no way they are compliant with COVID rules. Oh yes, since I got gel nail, they bring this absolutely filthy "nail dryer" that is used for gel nails. The appliance is filthy dirty. When you put your hands in it, is is crusty and you can literally see the dirt. If you observe how they keep their nail polishes, in several trays, they are simply throwing them into the basket and it looks ill maintained. The lighting is not the "best". I think that the Maryland Department of Health should certainly access this business.

Ok... I recently moved back to this area and decided to give this salon another shot. I previously stopped patronizing this salon due to the quality of work. The salon techs produced chunky and uneven nails. Not much has changed. I went in to get a repair due to a previous repair not being proper fixed at this salon. I had a fill done by A man which he did a good job with shape 3 days before. However he missed fixing a crack. Anyway The tech completely jacked my nails today. I went in and said I need a repair. Here is how I want this done since o don't want to change the shape or have my nails cut. I have direction. The tech goes in and then says she has to take off all the acrylic. Ok fine as long as you don't cur my nail. She soaks it and drills off The acrylic while Watching the real. Next thing I know I felt The clip. Whatttrt!!!!! I got angry then she states I told you. I said no you did not and that's not what I asked for! The repair did not need my nail to be cut! I get overlays!! Not only did she cut my natural nails, but provided a poor excuse of a repair. I am livid!!! Not cutting my natural nails was the first thing I told her when I sat down. I've been growing my nails doing overlays for a while and to just cut them because you were listening is unacceptable. If you want a nice set of nails go to Beautiful Nails near Route 1. Toni and MiMi know what they are doing! These people need a refresher on the business.

This was a horrible experience! It took 2 hours to get a basic gel pedicure! The nail tech that I had did not understand any English and was SOO SLOW

This is a place with the upmost professionalism. Always easy to get in and every time I've gotton any service there it has been nothing less than the BEST!! My nails always last so much longer since I've been getting them done there and I get constant compliments on my nails everywhere I go. They treat you like family there and I like that. This is a MUST if you desire nothing less than perfection. I've been going there for a year now
