Jade Multicultural Salon in Richmond, VA

I am glad I waited until my second visit to write a review. My first appointment went well, in that I was pleased with my hair and how long it lasted, but the price was higher than I expected and I didn't get the services I actually scheduled online. For example, I scheduledmy ends trimmed and then, but the girl didn't do it. I can only hope that I wasn't charged for it. This time was a different story. I tried to be flexible with what I could take, trying to be sensitive to the hair stylist time and my the problems started with the styling. She time. I didn't want to be there all day. The first problem was when she started styling my hair. I tried to look to see what she was doing to see if I liked it, but she told me she didn't like it when people looked before she was ready. Had I look before she was ready I would have seen that she was doing something that I wasn't going to like. When she finished and I saw how it looks and I realized I didn't like it then we had to switch it up. I told her what I would prefer at that time, but she said that you have to start all over, so I settled again for something that I didn't want but that would get me out of the chair Pastor cuz I've been there for a long time at that point. So I walked out with a hairstyle that I don't love and then we get to the part where she totals up my service, and it comes out to $150. I'm in a place where it's just one me and all that other customers and I'm asked to pay something for a service that I got that I hate, but nevertheless a service that I got and I feel like I have to pay for it. The prize was like ridiculous and way above my budget. Also, I neglected to mention that I asked her how much things would cost because I said my budget is really sensitive right now. What I didn't say is that my dog may have cancer and needs to get a surgery that's going to cost $1,000 so I don't have $150 to pay on a hairstyle that I hate. She said oh we'll worry about that later. And then she charges me $150. I'm so disappointed because I really thought that they work on keeping your hair healthy. Now I have to find another place to get my hair done because I can't trust the pricing for the styling

I have lived in New York for the last 40 years and recently relocated back to Richmond. One of the first things women of color look for is a good hair salon. Jade is the best! As far as my care and regimen, Nedra is my beautician and I wouldn't trade her for the world! Today, I was able to listen to and watch a potential client go through a consultation. She was contemplating hair coloring and hairstyles. Jade took EVERYTHING into consideration. In choosing a hair color....what the client was looking for, wardrobe colors, type of job and most importantly the client's personality. Hair maintenance routines were asked about. Even medications the client was on was considered. Lastly a choice of color and style were recommended along with a healthy hair regimen. And this consultation included the expertise of all the beauticians. All of the beauticians have a specialty but all can do anything. The atmosphere is fantastic and everyone is pleasant. I'm glad this was my first choice in picking a salon because it is definitely the place I would have ended up with. Thanks Ladies!!!!!

I love this salon because they really care about the health of your hair, not just making sure you get the style or color etc. you want. Jade works with you to really achieve what you're looking for and has a wonderful personality. All their products are great for natural hair and are high quality. The only con is that it's in a bad location in my opinion, however it's work the drive!
