J. Gilman Salon in Wichita, KS

I think that it is time to find a new salon for me. I have tried pretty hard to like this place. I've had my hair cut by 5 different stylists. 2 who ended up leaving with no forwarding salon. Unfortunately the only gal who cut my hair the right way and did my eyebrows perfectly was one of the two who left. The only other two names I can remember who I think are still there of stylists who have done my hair are Tiffany and Heather. Tiffany was the first person I ever saw there and she did awesome. She then went on maternity leave and I didn't go back for a long time. And it seems since she has come back she only works a couple days a week. Anyways, I had my hair dyed there twice by Heather. The first time was decent, a few pieces missed here and there but nothing major and I was able to get all over color done for what I remembered was maybe $50 or $60 and last time i had my eyebrows done there it was $12. The second time I went I got a root touch up and just a root touch was $60!! Then I got my eyebrows waxed for $14. I didn't get a mirror to look at my brows before leaving anf she used cold wax instead of hot wax.. awful awful! She missed so much hair and they are uneven. I went home and probably plucked out 50/70 stray hairs that were super obvious but somehow missed. There were also many many spots missed with my hair on the bottom. Heather is a very nice lady but it seems like most of the time she is rushing and not quite paying attention. I have very fine coarse curly hair and she loaded it up with 3 different products after rinsing out the dye. This has made my hair feel even more dry and sticky. I also have left the salon twice with the back of my shirt very damp. The first time it was soaked halfway down my back, the second my whole collar was soaked and lots of water got into my ears. From what I gather Heather is the owner/manager.. and the fact that the OWNER is slipping up multiple times is a problem. There were just too many negative experiences this time to keep going back. Their prices are way too high for the quality of service and attention received.

I had a great hair cut with Lori! She did a great job and listened well. She made sure I was happy with even the smallest details of my hair before I left. I have long, thick hair and shampoo, cut and blow out was $32 before tax! The staff is nice and professional. It is also a cute studio in a great location. I will defiantly go their for my next hair cut.

Cool shop. Great service! Had a divine foot massage and pretty pedicure. Will be back!

This is a nice place.  Everyone was friendly.  I got my hair colored by a brand new stylist and she did a good job!  The only complaint I have is that the bowl was really odd shaped and I could not get my head in/down and the back of my shirt got all wet, not to mention I still had shampoo in my hair when I got home.

This place is divine. I love the atmosphere in this beautifully-decorated salon. The staff was friendly and productive. I had a wonderful experience, and I am very pleased with the results. I've never really appreciated hair salons until my trim here.
