In Style Nail & Spa in Nanuet, NY

Attention all people of color, if you don't want to experience blatant racism, microagressions, and discomfort DO NOT GO HERE. If I could give these people a 0 star I would. The man doing my nails (Nick) was extremely racist. The entire experience was uncomfortable as he wouldn't stop talking about stereotypes relating to my ethnicity and bashing other races such as Black people for being and I quote "uneducated". He was especially rude to my cousin who is darker and said she was "acting like an African American". He is also misogynistic. I am absolutely shocked and disgusted by the things this man said. I clearly asked for gel but he did dip acrylic on my natural LONG nails first and overcharged me! This place even charges extra for a glitter top coat! My nails look decent but definitely not worth $85. My family members were equally as displeased by the racism and customer service. After this horrible experience, our total was still $500 for 6 people. I feel robbed and upset. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.

This place is great--and I am used to expensive salons in the city. Most nail places in Rockland are super disappointing, but this one is legit. The owners are lovely, all the nail techs are very skilled, and everyone who works there is friendly. Tip well--these workers deserve it!

I came here for gel mani pedi, called in advance and was seen right away by a Young Spanish girl who was sweet and did a great job. If it was for her, i would give the establishment 5 stars. My issue is with the asian older man, appears to be the owner. He scolded and demanded her to hurry up when I came in - as if she was a pet, or as if she was stupid or something. I can tell she talks to her like that all the time. Then, at the end when I went to pay at the end I told him to give her a $10 tip on my card - he said "first of all" I already pay her, i pay tax when you use a card, and bla bla bla If I do it its a favor to you. And refers to a sign that says cash tip is appreciated. I said... "appreciated" does not mean "cash only" I'm confused. He then tells me there will be a $3 extra fee for using my card and pointed to ANOTHER sign. I said sure no problem. My thing is ... if you charge a fee for the credit card anyway, how dare you still complain to the customer about stuff YOU pay for because I want to leave a tip? Isnt that why you charged me a fee in the first place? Give this lady her tip! Ridiculous. Last time I am coming here.

Had the worst french gel manicure. I asked the nail tech before we started if she can do designs. She said it depends. When i showed her a picture, she agreed she was able to do it. After continually trying to do the design, i told her forget it, just do a regular french. Each nail was messed up, all lines were crooked, raised, as if it was 3D. The owner had taken a client who just walked in right after me and sent her to his wife, who stated "she's the best at gel!!!" Will never go back.

Gorgeous acrylic work, fair pricing, extremely clean shop, friendly owners, easy parking, and flexible appointments. I first came here panicked the day before my wedding because my usual acrylic shop couldn't squeeze me in. The owner, Nick, immediately took me and in an hour and a half produced the most beautiful long, coffin blush wedding nails! I was so impressed that I have now been coming back for 7 months - I do not let anyone else touch my nails! Nick is the best, works fast, is super nice (remembers every customer's name, offers water, and always has nice chats with the customers unlike other shops where the workers talk to each other). Nick really takes his time crafting and shaping the nails and can do any style. Everywhere I go people ask who did my nails! Nails last without chips. I stuck to long coffin nails for months and then decided to try something fun with stiletto nails and have never gone back! I love coming here and always know I will leave with stunning nails!
