Hop's Salon in Minneapolis, MN

Hop is AMAZING. I'm the kind of person who wants to cry after every haircut-- but not this time. Hop was so friendly and squeezed me in at the end of the day for a last minute appointment. She was super reasonably priced, very speedy and gave me a cut I absolutely love. Plus she was wonderful to talk to :) P.S. I learned she runs this business alone and hasn't been able to find any other hairstylists to hire since the pandemic. She's hiring if anyone is searching for a hairstylist job!

If you live on campus/ Dinkytown (or anywhere else for that matter) I highly recommend giving Hop's Salon a look! She is a kind woman who truly knows how to cut hair but unlike other major salons she is doing this independently and working as hard as she can. I came here sophomore year looking for a convenient cut but I have come here every month since then and continue to drive 20-30 minutes away to have my hair cut from her personally after I have moved. To me she is worth the drive and I have not once been disappointed in the quality she has given me (nor the price). My advise when you come here (In regards to other negative comments) is that 1. Be very clear with what you want! Like all barbers and stylists but if she/whoever did not complete what you wanted then say something about it to get it corrected. 2. Please be patient. She is working so incredibly hard to run this salon and as unorthodox as it may seem at first, she is doing her best and give her the time she needs (appointment or not) and is working to ensure that you get whatever service you need done. Overall, I have enjoyed coming here every month for the past 4 years and will continue to come here for the foreseeable future as long as I live near the cities.

I had an amazing experience here! Hop is an extremely good hairdresser and is also very nice. The salon was very clean, affordable, and conveniently located in Dinkytown. I would highly recommend Hop's Salon to anyone!

Walked in with out a reservation. Told the very nice hair dressed what I wanted, and in 15 mins she had cut off 6 inches and gave me one of the best and fastest haircuts I've ever had. I'll definitely be coming back here again!
