Hibiscus Studio in San Jose, CA

I don't normally go here and now I remember why ... I was too focused on the color to notice these details . As someone that has a nail technician for a mother ,who also owns a nail shop , this is not okay . I've always gotten my nails done with my mom and they certainly do not look like this . I'm not sure if she noticed this as she was filing them but the nails weren't put on right and some of them are slanted . I noticed that the acrylic powder was also pretty thick when she was putting it on and a little yellow flag popped up in my mind . I appreciate her taking time to fix it after I messed it up but for $39 ( after tipping after the student discount ) this was definitely not worth it and will need to go to someone else to fix it

Umm I feel bad making this review because the staff is very nice. But wow. For basically $25 I should have CLEAN eyebrows. They left hair under my brow and on top as well. Had to clean them up myself at home. I was hoping she'd atleast trim my brows but she didn't either.... Gave them a second chance and came out even moree disappointed than before.

I've been going here for years and it's my fave spot in DTSJ. Do: make an appt, they get booked up! Don't: park on the street.. Bc they offer validated parking at the parking garage nearby! I go to Lori but the other gals are great too and everyone is friendly. Liz does my waxes and makes me feel relaxed when I was nervous about it my first time! They do have 2 emotional support dogs in the salon once in a while and they are so cute and well behaved. The salon is nice and clean :) Lori has been able to do any design I throw at her whether it's hand painted designs, ombré, clear nails, French tip, Marble, and any shape too!

Absolutely love Liz!!! It's been awhile since I've been back, but I had to drop a comment because she always knows what to do with my hair!!! I'll be scheduling an appointment with you again soon Liz!! It's almost been a year!!

Hibiscus Studio is a great place for those who live downtown. I made an appointment on yelp which was super helpful and conveinent rather than calling. I had a full set, I forgot who my lady was but she was very sweet. She made my nails a bit short and skinny for being acrylics, but I should've mentioned it in the beginning of what my preference was. Pro: They do student discounts! The lady asked if I had my student ID, which is always nice when workers try to help you save money, so saving $3-5 was nice! Con: The location. Although it's conveient for those who live downtown, there's always people hanging out outside since there's a smoke shop next door. Ladies always be safe while walking here alone.
