Hairy's Family Haircuts in Sonora, CA

I've waited quite some time to write this review. I read a post on Facebook that said that this salon was great for getting your hair colored. I called and made an appointment with a gentleman but upon arriving I was immediately taken back with how the owner behaved around me. I do not know this person, and I don't want to know this person. I made a couple of comments about the dog in the lobby and was friendly, but she would not look at me nor engage with me. I thought that was odd since I was a customer and I was being friendly. It dawned on me that she may know me from somewhere else or have an opinion of me personally from some other encounter. What she needs to know is, I don't know who she is but her hatred showed through perfectly. This is her business but if she saw my name in, for some reason, didn't want me there she should've said so. It was immature and disgusting. I could tell that she did not want me there. it was very unprofessional to behave that way to a customer when they're making small talk. Obviously I won't be returning. The color job was OK but nothing I couldn't have done at home. Nothing to write home about. With a sign on the wall asking people not to talk about politics I immediately knew this person was not only uneducated, but was out of line. This is the United States and people can talk about what they want to talk about. I can understand not wanting debates and yelling, etc. but what kind of person tries to control what someone else might say? Not that I had intentions of talking about politics. I don't know what's wrong with her but she is a nasty person. I do not recommend this salon. The owner is rude. The owner is unprofessional. Unbelievably nasty and rude. The man who did my hair suggested that I could even do my own hair next time. I'm sure it was because of her saying something to him. He acted like it wasn't necessary to come back. I'm not and you shouldn't either. She needs a lesson in professionalism and humility.

Totally ruined my hair. I asked for (and even showed multiple reference pictures) of a collar length haircut, and now my hair doesn't even reach my cheekbone. Completely against the reference photos. Never going here again, hair cut by the man there.

I went to Hairy's the other day there were two people ahead of me me but I only waited maybe 10 minutes I showed Kimberly what I wanted and she delivered very pleased with my cut and Kimberly's knowledge of my type of hair and the best way to cut to get what I was looking for!! Will definitely be back again!

First time customer and very pleased. No appointment necessary, minimal wait time and salon was exceptionally clean. I'm not certain of the hairdresser's name (possibly Art based on previous reviews), but he skillfully cut my dry, curly and somewhat unruly hair just as I requested. Great place & friendly staff!

Just got cleaned up by Kimberly. Cool little place fast service with a smile. Got a great haircut and looking forward to wearing it. Thank you Kimberly for the cut and the service. I'll be back.
