Hair Expressions in Clifton, NJ

After 35 years of having only one hairdresser whom I loved and always did an amazing job with my hair, when she passed I devastated and forced to move on. I found a place in town that I thought would be what I was looking for. The first visit went well enough but by the second one, I knew I had to keep looking. Then I found Hair Expressions! Everyone who works there is very friendly, they do great work and and have a wonderful sense of humor! My perm (courtesy of Aggie) came out AMAZING! I have very long hair and I just can't begin to say how thrilled I am with the outcome! If you are looking for a place that cares about what you want and how you want it, and treat you like family, this is the place for you!

Can't say enough about these ladies who are all so accommodating and do excellent work. From Vera who shampoos, to Jean the owner, and Agie who cuts my hair, you will not regret visiting them for all your hair needs. Agie is a professional who listens to you, gives you what you request, and precision cuts your hair. She is a highly experienced pro that takes the time to listen to you. I suggest you listen to her suggestions as she knows hair and will never steer you wrong! Thank you Agie, great seeing you today, and always the best to you and the crew there at Hair Expressions! *UPDATED REVIEW* February 12,2019 I am writing an updated review because something happened to me in the salon that upset me very much. So here i go... Ive been coming to this salon every Saturday since i moved in this area In September 2017. I am a loyal customer and i come every Saturday. I TIP my hair dresser Aggie 30% of my $30 blow out, i think i tip pretty well.. anyway. I usually get just a blow out but i have been wanting to switch up my color and go blonder. I showed a pic to my hair dresser and i gave her a chance to do my highlights. The out come was now how I expected or wanted but i didn't say anything because I didn't want to offend her. So i seeked someone else to do my COLOR because its MY hair and i wanted to go blonder. So I got my hair bleached by a professional who specializes in Baylage. When i went back to Hair Expressions the week after she obviously knew my hair was different and went on and on how she did an awful job that my hair is falling out and all this stuff. I signed a paper for the other girl to bleach my hair so i knew my hair wasn't going to have the natural oils... I knew it was going to take a while for my hair to get strong again. ANYWAY i got my hair color by someone else in October 2018... i kid you not, every single Saturday morning (8 a.m) she would complain how my hair is not curl-able, how damaged it was and so on. Its 8 in the morning I DO NOT want someone constantly complaining about my hair ...the time I go there is to get away from my busy life and enjoy my time there.... After 4 months of constant complaints about my hair every weekend I finally got fed up and told one of the women who work there that took my payment that day, to please take me off her book that I will no longer be coming here. Its ashamed because i loved everyone there. I had a good relationship with Aggie, i really liked her. But i got sick and tired of the complaining, also my hair looked different every week. Sometimes it came out good and then sometimes it looked awful. She always blamed it on my hair ever since i got it color by someone else. I never saw the problem because i would have other people do my hair sometimes and my hair came out luscious with curls and volume. So i didn't see the problem . November 2018- Come here EVERY Saturday for a blowout. Love my hair stylist Aggie!! Love the whole staff also! Would definitely recommend this salon

Came here for a haircut. Showed Aggie the look I was going for and she duplicated it exactly. For $17 and an amazing cut, I'd definitely recommend this place!
