I tried this salon after my old beautician retired, and I am very pleased. Communication and scheduling my appointment were pleasant and seamless. Judith is wonderful, and took time to understand my hair preferences. I have relaxed my hair for years, and she took time to explain other options. She handled my hair with care, and the end result is perfect! I have found my new salon!

There is nothing but AMAZING things I can say about this salon. Family run business. Judith saved my hair. Always makes my hair look AMAZING! You explain what you would like and advises best way to go. She is an absolute sweetheart. She & her mom Nancy are the best at what they do, they care about their clients & make you feel so welcome the second you walk in until the second you leave. Cute salon. I will go no where else!! if you need a great look go there!!!

this establishment is entirely hygienic. i travel over an hour out of state to go to genesis beauty salon and have my hair slayed by judith. in response to the one negative commenter: do not confuse your personal preference with their level of professionalism because it is my impression that the salon is very accommodating and never leaves a customer unsatisfied especially not knowingly. perhaps there was a miscommunication or loss in translation but i felt compelled to speak on this salon because of my own personal experience and the experiences of several others on this thread. that combined with the fact that small businesses are suffering globally amid the pandemic and platforms like yelp become their bread and butter for referral business so if you are unhappy be an adult and vocalize it with intentions to resolve, not sabotage. i highly recommend you reach out to the salon for resolution. also please note that just because someone isn't wearing a mask doesn't mean they aren't vaccinated and we all know the hell the masks brings imagine while blowing out hot air in your face simultaneously. transparency is a beautiful thing but communication is everything. have a wonderful day. for prospective clients: judith is a gem and business owner. hair coloring skills are phenomenal. kat is the sweetest with a 35k social media following and outstanding hair curling skills. 5 STARS !

My review for this place is long overdue. The owner is one of the genuinely nicest hair stylists I have ever encountered, and she really knows what she is doing. I was transitioning to natural hair when I went to her and was on my way to a wedding across the country. Not only that but I also had clip-in extensions. My hair looked INCREDIBLE (the wedding was 3 days later) and looked great for ~7 days TOTAL. Not only that, but she gave me A LOT of tips on caring for my hair- I could not recommend Nancy and her staff more. Th only reason I do not go more often is because I live in Washington, DC ;)

This place is a local great spot for a quick wash and set. They work on all hair textures. The price was pretty pricey ($30) not including tips for a basic Dominican spot. Plus I have medium short hair; right pass my chin kind of bob. I would prefer to be charged 20-25 bucks. The people are super friendly and it's a nice and clean salon.
