Valerie at Hair Connection is my favorite ever hair stylist! Since I started coming here, my hair has never looked better- I receive way more compliments than before. She is also very flexible and friendly and I always walk out feeling and looking better than when I came in!

This was my first time to this salon. I was new to the area and was looking for a stylist who was good with color. I asked for a full color when I booked my appointment. My stylist without any explanation was 20 minutes late for the appointment, and never introduced herself. She put me in her chair and stated  I was coming for a cut. I said, no a color. Didn't she look at the appointment beforehand, I thought. She was not friendly at all, acted as if she didn't even want to be there, and complained about the noise in the salon from other stylists and customers, and hated her station. She also told some very depressing and sad stories about pets. I paid for this? She never made any attempt to get to know me or what I wanted. She only gave me a root color with a trim. I asked what about the rest of my hair? She said she would just drag it down a bit from the roots to the rest of my hair, and left that on for a total of about 5 minutes. She didn't even know my name when it was time to check out. She told me she had been there 25 years. With her morose demeanor, maybe it's time she retired.
One week out and my roots look ok but the rest of my hair didn't even take whatever she did because clearly she didn't leave it on long enough. Terrible job. And she charged $100 for this. I'm angry that I paid so much and definitely will not be going back.

I've gotten my hair done by two different people at this salon, about a year ago I wanted to go blonde - I had light brown hair at the time. It cost about $200 & I left with yellow hair. I was told I would have to pay another $100 (at least) to get it fixed. I thought that was ridiculous for an all over color - so I just took the loss. I was so skeptical about coming back but I understood that I would be meeting someone else. About a month ago, I wanted to go from light brown hair to dark brown - I set up an appointment with Valerie. When I got there, she told me not to wear my mask so it would be easier for her & she wasn't wearing one either. When she was finished, my hair was almost black it was so dark - I thought "that's fine, it will fade over time" but it also had a harsh red tint to it. I pointed that out to Valerie & she said she would tone it for me (for free) in about a week. We scheduled an appointment to get my hair toned & she texted me a couple hours before the appointment to say she wouldn't be able to make it & she will check her books & let me know when I can come in - that was 3 weeks ago. I've texted & called her cell multiple times (each text/call were days apart from each other) & even called the salon a few times. She's avoiding me because she doesn't want to work for free - even after she told me she would & even scheduled an appointment with me. I'm very annoyed & frustrated. This is extremely unprofessional & I have never had a good experience at this salon. They overcharge like crazy, never do good work & are rude. I honestly can't wait for the day I meet a hair stylist that does good work, knows their worth, & isn't fake. If you decide to try this salon, I wouldn't work with Valerie.
