Great Clips in Wauwatosa, WI

I called today 8/5 at 1:20pm to see if they take appointments, and the woman who answered said no. Ok that's fine. Then I mentioned how the wait times had been fluctuating on the app and I was really aiming for 3:30 today so I asked if there was no one else and if we were there early of our check in time if they'd take us. I asked this because I don't know what their break schedule is and I realize people who cut hair are constantly on their feet and often have back to back clients so I didn't want to assume. I have a pedicure at 4 a few doors down so if I needed to push it up, I wanted to mention that to the other business if necessary. Her response: I don't have an answer for you. We don't take appointments. I responded that wasn't what I was asking and said thanks bye. I've gotten subpar bang trims here over the years and put up with it because it's so close to my nail salon. My dollars are happy to travel to a competitor.

I went to get a quick cut, I'm the only customer in the place. While sitting in the chair waiting for a cut, I look around at how the shop is maintained. With all the policies now in place to wipe everything down, I had to smile at all the hair piled up in the corners and along the baseboards. If I noticed it, I'm sure others noticed it. Easy to correct to ensure a pleasant visit.

We have limited time on weekends and wanted to fit in a quick cut. Checked in, arrived on time and proceeded to sit and wait for about 15 minutes. So don't bother to check in online. It makes no difference.

Yesterday I made a snap decision they're both my husband and myself needed a haircut. We decided to go to great clips because they were open later than other salons. Haircut is $15 which is pretty cheap. We were welcomed immediately. Malaikhaan was our stylist. She took great interest in what I wanted to achieve. She looked at all my photos and confirmed she understood what I wanted. She shaved and cut, then reassessed my hair and did a little more cutting. She blow dried and styled it (no charge). She actually gave me step by step styling Instruction. She showed me my hair from all sides in the mirror and confirmed my cut was to my liking. It most certainly was. She recorded my cut in my customer profile for my next visit. She thanked me for coming back and choosing Great Clips. Very positive and uplifting environment. This cut is as good as I the cuts I used to get where I paid 3x as much. I will definitely be coming back to see Malaikhaan. My husband had an excellent hair cut experience as well. She was very precise with the shaver and the scissors. She even trimmed his eyebrows for free. How nice. Definitely will be going back to see Malaikhaan again.

Nope. Nope Nope Nope. Went in because I needed a last minute haircut. I don't expect that much from such a cheap haircut but I do expect my hair to look blended and even when I leave. I have a pretty simple pixie cut that I asked him to trim for me. I ended up having the nape of my neck shaved and a line created between this shaved area and the longer hair on top. A dog groomer was able to correct my hair by blending it in.
