Great Clips in Hoover, AL

I have used this place for years to get my hair cut. As expected the haircuts are Mediocre but the reason I've used this place is because every time you use the app it's been very efficient to make your time you then show up and you have your schedule time. But the last three times I've tried to do this the app would tell me there was a 25 minute wait I would then come in when it was only five minutes left Only to have them now tell me it was gonna be another 30 to 50 minutes. Crazy  you can't trust the app the way these people run this place it doesn't matter if you checked it on the app or not they're gonna go ahead and put you behind everyone else who did not but just walked in to the door. JUST FO AWAY WITH THE APP IF YOUR NOT GOING TO USE THAT CHECK IN!!!!! I've had it with them it's terrible the service is terrible it's just a low end haircut place so if that's what you're looking for a great go there but don't trust the check in time and that you'll be able to get seen

I personally think this establishment does very well. As long as you know what you're talking about you will get what you ask for. All of the staff members are really nice and are great for conversation.

Had Marshelle and had to get a haircut before I moved. He did great and really pays attention to details!

It's usually the roll of the dice when I drop in to have my hair cut at a chain. Don't get me wrong, anyone can give you a $7.00 haircut, but it might look crappy.

Today's cut met both my and my wife's approval.

Also, most of the clients when I was there were men. They had six stations open and they were all busy. There wasn't a wait. The place was clean the staff didn't appear to resent each other as is frequently the case in low-end salons.

Went to Great Clips (while seeking a permanent hairdresser) and hair was cut by "B." It was okay, so I went back. The second time I got a chop job, which was worse on the left side of my head. Not wanting to go back, I was encouraged to because of two friends who have "A" cut their hair. It seems she is pretty popular. So, after letting my hair grow to get rid of the chopped layers, I went to "A." She cut 2 inches off my hair (that was okay because I had let the bad haircut grow out) and then commenced to do chopped layers in my hair with, once again, mostly on the left side (like most people, all parts of the hair do not grow the same). I mean it is chopped. None of it is blended. I had shown her a photo of the haircut I wanted. It was a smooth bob. Nothing smooth about my hair. It won't even turn under on the sides. And the weird thing is the only layers in my hair are just in a small section on each side (where the ears are)! Now, I am going to have to wait and let it grow again before getting another haircut. I am pretty sure to fix this problem would taking cutting my hair even more. It is already just below my chin. I am considered calling and speaking to whomever the manager is and getting a refund. Probably would like my tip back too! I am still on the lookout for a permanent hairdresser (would like to get a perm when hair grows some), but in the meantime, will never go back here or to any walk-in, low price hair places again (thought I had learned my lesson when back many years ago when I, once again, got a chop job at a Head Start!).
