I've been getting my hair cut at the Hampton Pointe Great Clips for several years. I'm not reviewing any one stylist. I've been to a half a dozen and they've all given me an excellent cut. Each stylist has listened to what I want and taken the time to properly cut my very thick, sometimes medium length, sometimes long hair. I've always asked that my stylist point cut my hair, and each has. At this salon I feel that I can leave the rest to the stylist, without reservation. This Great Clips is consistently great, every time. I have no reason to go any where else.

I have gone to this great clips many times and when I used to go I had one girl who understood exactly how I liked my hair to be done and was so wonderfully nice throughout the process. The last 2 times I have gone I have had very negative experiences. I understand that during covid it might not be as easy to wash peoples hair but not knowing this I went in with my hair unwashed after getting off work where my hair gets very oily under my hat. The first words out of my hairdressers mouth were about how greasy my hair was and it made me feel very embarrassed and ever since that appointment I spent lots of time researching ways to make my hair less that way although it entirely had to do with me thinking they would've washed my hair like they normally offer to do. My haircut was fine and so I decided to leave it alone. When I went in today the first thing this lady had said also had to do with asking about what products I used in my hair because it was waxy. I said I didn't know what it was called and she told me the reason I had so much buildup was because I got my shampoo at Walmart or a grocery store. I go to great clips because I cannot afford to spend a lot of money on hair products. I was once again very embarrassed because sadly all I can afford is cheap shampoo but I still try to research what is best for my hair type. I still trusted that maybe I needed to splurge a bit and so I bought the shampoo she recommended. She did not blow dry for more then 30 seconds and so when she asked if I liked it I said yes because it looked fine while damp. It was freezing outside and with my hair still mostly wet I was so cold walking to my car. When I got home and my hair fully dry I now see it is the choppiest hair cut I have ever gotten and the shape of my hair fully dry resembles a mullet. When I was paying she told me I had to mix baking soda into the shampoo for my first wash because I had that much buildup and it was directly next to another customer, I was horribly embarrassed. I do agree I have oily hair but it is hardly to the degree that she made it seem. I understand they might be trying to sell products but normally I leave a salon feeling good about myself but when I have left that salon I have felt embarrassed and gross. Considering the state my hair is in right now I will not be going back.

Kids cuts! Ask for Ms Shirley! My two year old did great the second time. The first time he was freaking out and wriggling all over she still got a great cut.
