I have very fine, thin, stick-straight hair. Don Lee does a meticulous job at creating a style that works for me despite the challenges, and I'm amazed at how good my hair can look with very little effort on my part. I've received many compliments on his cuts and color.

My hair is very fine but voluminous, with strong waves in some places and dead straight elsewhere.  Having lived in New York City for almost 50 years before moving to North Carolina, I'd gotten spoiled with access to highly skilled hair cutters and was apprehensive about finding someone near my new home.  Fortunately, a new friend tipped me off to Don Lee.  He understands that fine hair should not be layered for volume.  He listens, which I appreciate.  I've lived with my hair for 73 years and, although open to trying something new, know what I know about how my hair behaves.  Only drawback (for me) is that he prefers to cut my hair dry, which leaves less long-lived structure than a post-shampoo cut.  However, cannot argue with the results:  My hair looks good with little effort.

I have "difficult" hair--thick, coarse, and multi textured (shock straight top layer, curly underneath--and am lazy to boot (meaning will not take time to "style").   Don Lee has given me the best hair cuts I've ever had.  He is extremely COVID careful.  He has remodelled salon to give each stylist their own enclosed room with sink, so that there's no sharing air space except for lobby walk through.  and you can wait in your car.  Masks are mandatory.  Plus he is a sweetheart.  I leave feeling better about the human race!

Let me start off by saying this, I really normally don't write reviews. However, I felt very compelled to express that I felt like what I got is not what I payed for. First of all, I was getting my hair colored and it took almost 5 hours, appointment started at 12 and went to 4:30. My hair was lighted for an extremely long amount of time and it felt a little TOO long. In fact it was a majority of the appointment. My scalp, my back, and my head were starting to hurt so bad. My hair was washed and i was charged $200. Never in my life have I ever been charged that much for a hair dye, and I have been having my hair dyed for the better half of my adult life. But I paid and left respectfully. I never said a word, I never wanted to. But my scalp began to itch and hurt and became very red and had small boils. I had chemical burn all over my scalp. Luckly I have really really strong hair so I was left unscathed in that department, but my scalp itched so so bad that I couldn't resist itching it, because it had been itching all day and night now for almost 3 weeks. My scalp burns still and is raw and dry, my hair is also extremely fried on the ends but Im really hopping I can recover them some how because my hair was very long and beautiful. Anyways, Like I said I dont write reviews almost ever. But this experience has left me with lasting discomfort and I felt compelled to say something.

I went in after 5 months of growing my hair out during COVID.  I wanted a layered, messy bob that worked with my wave.  I wanted easy and fun length but not one length.  Wearing a mask, and without my glasses I trusted Katie since I was told when I called that Don highly recommends her and he is booked through August.  She cut my hair dry and then washed and styled.  She didn't follow the COVID guidelines he publishes-towel was not placed on my face during shampoo like he says it will be.

My hair is one inch long, every hair is a different length, it is thin as can be and she scalped the back -this is the shortest hair cut and worst I have ever had in my life.  It is one step from shaved off. NEVER AGAIN-HUGE MISTAKE trying this place.
