Great Clips in Ann Arbor, MI

My 9yr old son just had a haircut at this location by Tiffani and talked the whole car ride home about how nice she was and what a good job she did. He liked that she took the time to explain that some styling product will be needed for the style, etc. He was insistent that I leave a good review on "Etsy or Reddit or something". The haircut he got previously at the Great Clips Meijer location did not thrill me. Tiffani looked at the notes and went over it with me on what needed to be changed. My son and I were very happy with the cut and he liked that she "took her time and futzed around with it a bit".

ODD vibe overall here suddenly! In November and early December all seemed normal. Seemingly there are nearly all new employees at this Maple Village location for 2020. They have a hiring sign up too. There's a sour woman (no name tag or apron) stalking /observing certain stylists-- she could've handled this much better whatever her role (0 stars). She also seemed to gawk at customers at times-- unprofessional. Too bad for the stylists trying to make a living here. We've been coming here for years and had a favorite stylist (now at SALINE GC near Walmart I've heard), but we occasionally used other stylists here with good results too. The haircut received today from a new male stylist was good (5 stars), but I'm not sure if we'll return due to the WEIRD atmosphere. (Definitely use online check in at any great clips).

Savannah did the best anyone has done with an elderly man I care for. She was accommodating to all of his requests which can be a bit much at times and was able to help him lean back and get his hair washed which we haven't been able to find before!

My Girlfriend went here to get a haircut yesterday, and was greeted by a girl who said she would pull up her personal profile notes which had specific instructions that had been followed and entered by the previous stylist and she looked great that time. The girl repeatedly told her she was following the instructions in the notes, and since my girlfriend has very bad vision and has to remove her glasses to get her hair cut, she did not notice the girl butchering her hair. She is so upset she has not removed her hat in a day and stayed up crying until 3am about how the haircut was going to ruin her. These people do not know how to follow instructions even when they write them. If you are looking for a haircut, forget this place, you would be better off shaving your head with a weedwhacker than asking them for any haircut. EVER!!!

I stopped in for a shampoo/blowdry. They said it would be half hour,I came back half an hour and was ignored for 20 min. Finally someone says oh are you waiting yes I am. I have well water at home so its a nice treat to get my hair shampooed and blowdried in city water..also I have been there once before shampoo/blowdry $5.00. Great.. so the girl washes my hair and then starts to dry it with a brush. said oh you can just use your hands my hair behaves better without a brush,,well she continued to section it off and blowdry with a round brush..ok I'll let her continue....long story short..I go to cash out ,thinking I will tip her $5.00 and she says that will be $40.00!! What!! I didnt even get a trim..she says .oh you got a fashion blowout...a what!! I said if you would have told me that in the beginning I would have said just use your hands ,skip the brush..a fashion blowout..lol..what a joke..she called her manager and said her manager will not budge its $40.00 I said I was expecting to pay $5.00 and tip you $5.00. Do they think they are in las vegas in a high roller salon? Its great clips..they need to be up front about there special (brush/blowdry) I paid $5.00
