Geist Hair Salon in Indianapolis, IN

I have been here twice. The salon itself is nicely decorated and clean. The receptionist/check in person was pleasant. I could get an appointment that day both times I scheduled - with the same stylist. That should've been a red flag.

I would not recommend the stylist, Casey, I've used twice now.  She was just rude and rough with me the entire appointment (20 mins total for a wash and cut) and I felt rushed through it.  

The first time I just thought to myself she was just having a bad day and wrote it off.
But honestly both times, she just seemed annoyed I was there. She was rough with my hair washing (water was scolding hot too), conditioning (left it in for 10 seconds) and brushing my hair out before the cut.  I have fine hair and she made me feel like it was my fault that she couldn't get it brushed without painful tangles (never a problem for me or any other stylist I've gone to).  

She was rude when I asked a question about what length she was going to cut.  After that, I felt like I should just better keep quiet and endure it.

The entire experience was poor.  The haircut itself was just okay. For $40 plus the seemingly mandatory tip (there were only options for 15%, 20% or 25% on her phone payment app), I will certainly never going back!

I wouldn't waste my time even calling for an appointment.  I had an appointment set up two weeks in advance which the day of the apt I received a text with a different time.  They couldn't even call to explain or to say sorry no just a text.  When I called to say wrong time they made it my problem that the person called in sick so they would TRY to find someone else to help again not sorry at all.  This was for my daughter's prom THE DAY of the prom.  Thank goodness it wasn't her wedding but of all days Her PROM.  Thank goodness I was able to find another salon who cares about customers unlike Textures in Geist.  Trust me you need to say far away from Textures in Geist.  I wanted to give a zero rating but I couldn't get the one star off.

While pricey, its worth it. As I only get my hair cut 4 times a year, I spend as much ad some would monthly at a chop shop. Amanda is fantastic. She's patient, intelligent and creative. Let her be your hair artist, to do as she wishes and you will not regret it. Also,  if your hair is so thick and straight you have trouble finding people who are patient enough to cut it evenly, try Amanda. My hair is always even and lays just right. The salon itself is nice and staff friendly.

I have been there three times and my only advise is to stay with one sylist. The girl who cut my hair the first time which I really liked the cut I have been unable to get the same cut from the other two. I even showed the last girl a picture the way my hair was cut the first time and it is way too short in the back and on the sides and now I am going to wait to grow it out. So, I am going to go back to the first girl even though she is a little more she was very good. However, other than that issue I love the salon and everyone there is very nice. This has become my new salon.

A friend of mine whose daughter is a stylist at Texture suggested I try it....I had been going to great clips and always paid $12 at the most...and I had a coupon for $7.99 this month....so I knew going in it would be a bit more.  It ended up $22 for essentially the same cut as great clips....and I wasn't in the chair for more than 10 minutes....longer than my wait...though I came in early for my appointment. I had met Lauren my stylist once before...so she knew me....she was a bit quiet...but I can be too....and she said was happy to see me and to cut my hair. Lauren did a very good job.  I want to support my friends and their families' businesses, so I will have Lauren cut my hair again.
