Garden City Nail Spa in Cranston, RI

I just left garden city mail incredibly disappointed. An older male was removing my nail polish. After wrapping them in foil, he left to work on another lady getting a pedicure. Without washing his hands or changing the drill head he used on me, he began working on her feet. Once finished he came back to remove the remaining gel polish. Again - without changing the drill head or washing his hands. I asked kindly for a clean drill, and he obliged. Once he began drilling my nails, he cut me once on my right pinkie finger and again on my right index finger. I pulled my hand back, and asked him not to use the drill anymore because he cut 50% of the fingers he has now worked on. He huffed and puffed and told me I needed to wait for another tech because I'M TOO PICKY. As if somehow his inability to use a drill or clean products is my fault? He told me I would have had to wait 20 minutes for another tech. So I got up and left. I asked to speak to a manager, and she apologized and said she would fix my nails in 10 minutes. I appreciate her trying to make the situation right, but the damage had been done. I walked out of the salon with my gel polished half removed and two bloody fingers. I have been going to this salon for a year and a half. I really hope they don't let this employee work on people's nails again until he reviews sanitation procedures and learns how to use the drill. Being cut with that thing isn't fun. I unfortunately won't be going back.

Great service and very nice people. They accepted me as a walk in an hour before they closed. Only a few minor mistakes but nothing bad at all. I was very happy with the outcome and will go again

I made an appointment for 1pm, and wasn't sat at a salon desk until 1:18pm. Nobody should wait twenty mins if they have a scheduled appointment.
The tech, (Tina) didn't shape my nails. She applied the dip powder before shaping my nails or clipping away dead skin. Once the dip powder was dried, she then clipped away dead skin. But did not shape them. She didn't ask how I wanted them shaped. If I had gone elsewhere, I would have gotten the shape I wanted .... Because the tech would have asked.
She also clipped me twice and I bled. She didn't say sorry or even stop. She just kept clipping away. I was bleeding from the cuts. No apology.
She had taken those clippers out of her drawer. Typically, nail salons sterilize their tools in an autoclav. These nail clippers were taken out of her drawer, which is not sterile. After she used them on me, and CUT me with them and caused me to bleed... she put them right back in the drawer. Clearly these tools are not being sterilized before or after they are used. I was horrified. I could have gotten a blood born pathogen from dirty clippers cutting me and causing me to bleed. The service was also $15 more than I usually pay anywhere else for the same service.  I was not happy and most likely will not return.

I've stopped in without an appointment a couple of times and they have been consistently accommodating. Ken was my tech most recently, and he was great!! I have a very specific idea of the color I want...whiteish pink translucent high gloss top coat. I've literally been laughed at in other salons. They achieve my desired color every time. The salon is clean, pretty and everyone is so nice.

The staff was really nice but I'm not crazy about my nails. I think if you want intricate designs you might want to temper expectations.
