Fox Den Salon in Minneapolis, MN

Do not go to this salon. First of all they make you pay for half of your service just for making an appointment. This was my first and definitely last time using this salon. I wasn't even sure what I was going to be having done as far as my hair color but they charged me $86 up front. I had Elizabeth for my stylist. I explained to her that I wanted my greys covered and a few highlights in the front. Either she had no idea what I was asking for or she has no hair coloring skills. It took her 3 hours to do my hair. She used foils on me whole head which I thought was odd but I assumed she had a plan and was trained to color hair. In the end my grey hair did not get covered and my hair looks patchy. one side is darker than the other and it's a mess. I had my hair done on a Saturday so I called the salon on Monday and asked to speak to the owner or manager. The receptionist told me that the manager doesn't take calls and I would have to email her. I sent an email explaining my situation and nobody answered me. What a waste of $170. Save yourself the headache and don't go to Fox den.

Complet's Trash. I made an appointment with Erica to have my hair layered so I could continue to grow it out after wearing synthetic dreads for about two years. I was excited as this was my first time getting my real hair styled in a long time. She literally did nothing. she trimmed the end of the very top. I counted. it was literally less than five snips. no layers. no sectioning. no cleaning up my ends. I had to remind her to shave my neck. and then she charged me $70 for a midi cut, even though my hair is not even over my ears or past my jaw. trash. i will never go there again. I am not wealthy. I have to save for expensive haircuts. And for $70 I should've gotten it fantastic cut that would've grown out for the next three months. I guess she thought I wasn't cool enough for her Dizzy twink Molly gurl attention.

I scheduled with Ari in late fall - I've been cutting my hair off and on since the pandemic and only go in to the professionals when I have an event (friend wedding) I want to look nice for. Ari didn't judge me for the state of my hair, in fact - she praised me for how I'd been doing on my own! My previous stylist joked that it looked like a drunk person had done my hair so I was a little shy about having someone see it again. (Thank you Ari!) I'm that person who wants something fun and new but never goes for it, and this was the same with Ari. I mentioned wanting a change but we both agreed not to try a shag and she trimmed me up and styled me nicely. Easy to chat with and also easy to be quiet with. I had visited Fox Den before they moved just for a perm consult and was happy at that time too. I hate parking in uptown but would visit again since they're one of only a few green salons in the Cities.

Fox den is amazing! The salon has a cool artsy vibe, and everyone is so welcoming! Kait does amazing hair!! I am working on going blonde, and she did a amazing full head of highlights. Plus my hair feels super healthy still! Can't wait to continue my blonde journey. Highly recommend fox den, and Kait!

I went here in the fall for the first time to fix a bad diy haircut and the stylist who was reccommended by a friend did an incredible job, and the haircut grew out nicely but I felt it was time for it to be cleaned up. I decided to choose who was first available, and chose a different stylist. This stylist only partially met my expectations- after putting out simple instructions for what I wanted, it wasn't achieved. The stylist offered to wash my hair after the haircut, and with my hair thickness/texture, that doesn't make any sense (having it washed before makes it way easier, for past salon and at home experiences). Every choice she made felt questionable. My haircut is incredibly choppy and uneven. It could've been way worse, but it should've been better. The vibe of the salon is fun and inclusive, but it really really depends on the stylist.
