Falu African Hair Braiding in Detroit, MI

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! I made my appontment on wed for friday night at 11p, I paid my100 dollar deposit on Fri morning & thought all was well. Upon my arrival @11 no one was at the shop. I called Bobby/Jana and they told me they were on their way! Upon them arriving they washwd my hair and then told me I had to return in the morning, due to lack of braiders. They went on to tell me that their braiders don't like to work that late. I was highly upset. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!

Taif's just opened in the past week and had an ad on Craigslist regarding a grand opening special. The short review: Not a place to go if you are looking for professional hair braiding and actually want to keep your hair. Please learn from my mistake. Pros: 1. The shop is located on E. 8 Mile near I-75. 2. Overall the shop is clean and should be since it just opened. 3. Pricing is comparable to other braid shops starting at $150+. The grand opening special was $100 for ty zillions not including the hair. 4. Next day appointments available. Cons: 1. They are located next door to a liquor store. Not a problem before 5pm, but boy do the crazies come out after dark. I was smart enough to park near the door so I could go right to my car. One lady walked up to the shop and I swore she was trying to come in and rob the place. 2. Professionalism- I don't think they understood that sitting in a chair for 5 hours can be a pain. For the first hour after arriving there was only 1 person braiding my hair. Smh When the second lady arrived she started working and the other stopped. Not a good way to work efficiently. 3. They didn't braid past my hair in the center where it is long- That means that I don't want to cut my hair when taking out the braids. I called back after noticing it and he said that I have to ASK for them to braid past my actual hair and that's an extra $30 on top of the regular $150 that they charge. Really people get their hair braided so that they have hair out? No they were being lazy. He also stated that I would need to come back to the shop to have it taken down since they not how to do that. Sounds like a bad infomercial. Overall, my braids look good but the headache associated with getting them done and the 5-6 hours I'll have to spend cutting each individual knot because they didn't braid beyond my hair makes this special not worth it. They have a second location on Van Dyke and I would avoid both if you can. Definitely a fail in my book.
