Eyelash Envy at Vanity Salon in Mt Pleasant, SC

Whenever, I go to Charleston a trip to see Kim at Vanity Salon is a must. I've been living in Los Angeles for years but haven't found anyone that can color my hair as good as Kim does. She knows what level of blonde I like and what best suits my face. Kim is so sweet and makes me feel so at ease when I'm sitting in her chair.

Definitely wished I trusted the other reviews about the owner Kim. An absolute nightmare to deal with. We had a quick engagement and then a Covid quarantine meant I could do my trial 22 days before the wedding. I was in tears because of Kim. She was rude and did a horrible job with my hair. She was constantly texting someone during my trial and acted though I was inconveniencing her. She slicked my hair back which I said I wanted it loose. She said it could not look like the inspo photo because my hair wasn't highlighted. (2 other stylists were horrified when I showed what Kim did, one of which said, "that looks like a messy after soccer bun"). On the day of my wedding, Janet did my makeup and that of my bridal party. She was nice and did a good job. Kylie stepped in to do hair for me and the bridal party. She did a great job. It was blind trust though on my wedding day and I had no idea who would be doing my hair until hours before my wedding. While Janet and Kylie were great, I would never be able to recommend Vanity to anyone. If I hadn't been so close to my wedding, I would have searched for a different hair and makeup vendor.

DO NOT GO HERE. If you think for one second it is a good idea to go here because other salons are more expensive, think again. I am now having to pay far more to have my hair fixed after the worst haircut I have ever received in my whole life. I went to Erin, so if you don't believe me and still make an appointment, at the very least don't go to her. Look at this shit!!! It looks like she held my head over the garbage disposal and called it a day. I never even post reviews because I feel bad to blast someone's livelihood but wtf I don't know how she got a license. I don't have the heart to show my face to post the bangs. Save yourself go fuckin anywhere else. Sports clips is probably more reliable.

$55 for a disappointing hair cut and "blow out". I could have done a better job at home with my revlon brush blower than Erin did. Her personality was pleasant enough but she definitely just wanted to quickly do my trim, wash and blow dry my hair. The trim was nothing that I asked for and me not knowing much about hair terminology put a lot of trust in the hair dresser. I asked for my layers to be touched up, now I have a blunt cut. I asked for slight tapering. Nope. My face framing pieces are practically bangs and she didn't ask me how short, just snip and I see my beautiful length just on the floor. Hardly any product was used for my "blowout"  and no finishing spray or anything to take away the frizz was used at the end. Oh and thankfully I used the bathroom before I left snd noticed a section that was about 2 inches longer than the rest and pointed that out and she cut it off. Literally why I don't trust anyone to do my hair.

I loved my hair & makeup trial with Vanity Salon! I am a very picky bride and I live three hours from my wedding location so I was concerned I wouldn't be able to find someone who met my vision. Kim did a great job listening to my concerns and her attention to detail was terrific. My makeup and hair held up so well throughout the day and as soon as I left a stranger complimented my hair. They really made my dream a reality & I cannot wait to have them there on my wedding day. Thank you!
