Echelon Salon in Folsom, CA

I called this salon in a panic due to a DIY trim that ended poorly on my long fine hair. My call was answered promptly, and she referred me to Hai. Hai called me within the hour to schedule me and fit me in to an early appointment 2 days later to fix my cut. The establishment was clean with a nice homey feel. Hai is so nice and did a quick but thorough consult on the cut before washing. When I say this man looked like Picasso cutting my hair, I mean it. He took my hair from all angles, tilted my head every which way, and corrected any spots not perfect after drying. He spent the majority of my hour long appointment simply cutting. I asked for a V cut with long layers and face framing. Took exactly how much off that he said he would. It looks phenomenal. Hai was very gentle with my hair, being that it knots up way too quickly and the strands are very fine. I'm sure you will love his work just as much as I do.

I was trying to refrain from writing this but I am too angry and I have to tell my experience. I had been seeing a hair stylist here and I have been feeling uncomfortable with her for two years. She has never seen me that she hasn't scolded me for one thing or another. In text, she was nice enough. But in person was where her grumbling and scolding started. Three days before I went for my appointment, I had visited my dad who was sick. But we didn't know until the next day that he had Covid. Now, I shared this with her. She asked me questions about that situation. I told her I had no physical contact with my dad and he was wearing a mask. I felt fine. Covid didn't hit me until 6 days later. I texted her and asked her if she was ok. She said she was fine. But the next day, she texted me and said, "I think you were irresponsible for coming here without a mask when you knew you had been exposed." It didn't occur to me to do that but if she had asked me to wear a mask, or asked me to reschedule, I would have not said no. She had to put all the onus on me and take no responsibility. For four years, I had avoided covid and not had so much as a cold. I thought I was home free, especially since I didn't feel sick for five days after. That was the final straw. I told her I was going to look for another hairdresser. I think out of her anger, she also butchered my hair the last time I saw her. I asked for one inch trim, she took off three inches. I asked for long layers, which I always get with no problem. This time she chopped off the layers short so I can't do anything with my hair. They have scissors and they think they have power. She took out her contempt on my hair. I'm not going anywhere near this place again.

Francisco did an amazing job fixing my hair after it was sadly messed up by another stylist at a different salon. I honestly couldn't be happier with the result and how much I needed this fix !! Not to mention he is the happiest person you could have doing your hair! You can tell how much he loves his job!

I am new to the Folsom area and after a few hair salons over the past several months I have found Hai who is now my "forever" hair colorist and stylist. Echelon is a darling down to earth hair salon with a friendly and happy staff. Thank You Hai- you are extremely talented and you were able to create what I have always envisioned for my own personal look - Finally. I found Echelon through reading multiple positive reviews. When I went in for a spur of the moment short shag haircut, Hai also took the time to add some beautiful highlights and a styling lesson to help me recreate the look at home. I can tell that Hai takes his art seriously and his ability to create color and cuts which current with todays styles.

My teenaged son who is picky about his hair saw Hai (pronounced Hi) for a haircut. He looked terrific! Great quality cut and style, perfect for my son's age and style. I highly recommend Hai for an exceptional look at a reasonable price.
