Dominican Fashion Beauty Salon in Bronx, NY

I agree with the last review - STAY FAR AWAY and take your money elsewhere!! The owner/worker was extremely rude, unprofessional and decided to make up her own pricing despite the sign on the wall that clearly identified what the charges were. This was actually my second time coming here (definitely my last) and you can almost sense the attitude before you sit in the chair. I only went there because I washed my hair at home but my blow dryer stopped working. I went in for just a blow out which she stated would be the same price for a wash so I decided to let them wash my hair again. At first she said $35 but the price list (which I didn't see until I walked to the cash register) says wash and set $15. I opted to not do rollers but rather have a her blow it out. Who knew sitting under a dryer would cost less than having them actually blow dry it. She ended up charging me $30 and I didn't even get the deep conditioner which they advertised to do Mon-Wed. When I pointed out what the sign read, she rattled off excuses about my hair being longer (duh, wet hair shrinks) and if I had done the rollers it would be $15. Who does that??? The only good thing about my visit was the girl that actually washed my hair did a good job. Wish I could give negative stars for service as this person doesn't understand the concept of good customer service. Never ever again will they get my money!!

Stay away! Never before had I experienced an unethical and unprofessional owner. Came in for the first time to this salon early in the morning and had the unfortunate luck of having the owner do my hair. Typically when you get an owner you are in luck. Not this time! Because my hair is not easy to manage she gave me a screw face from beginning to end. Came in to ask if they were open and she looked at me from top to bottom then answered me. Mind you I'm Dominican and understand and speak Spanish very well. The owner an older lady with dark hair asked if i wanted my ends cut. My response was no because I'm not comfortable cutting my hair at just any salon. She looked back at one of her stylist and gave her a look and kept looking at my hair. When perming my hair she kept applying perm by my forehead and wouldn't clean it, which would cause a burning sensation. As the experience continued she didn't realize I was observing the eye contact she kept making with the other stylist. If you want someone who will make what is suppose to be a relaxing experience uncomfortable then come here. If it wasn't for the fact I had a perm on already, I would have left. Thank you Dominican fashion salon for your unprofessionalism. Would of gave you 0 stars but it wouldn't allow me.

Marisol is AMAZING!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this salon. They are super friendly!!! They will speak to you and remember you. if you bring your own products they don't mind. It's unfortunate when the owner is out of town bc she is the best in the shop but overall it's still my go-to place for a wash & set. I won't let anyone but the owner trim, or perm, or color, or do anything substantial to my hair. BUT if you just need a quick wash & set anyone can help you. I have never left this salon unhappy!!!
