Only giving a 1 because a zero is not allowed. Terrible customer service. Terrible experience. I am transitioning to natural and she had some girl shampoo my hair that matted it up so she decided she was just going to cut off the hair that her assistant tangled. I went from hair past my shoulders to a short afro. Very unprofessional. You could feel the tension in her shop among stylists. She got in her car and left twice while doing my hair to run errands and get food. Complete lack of consideration for your time. Tells you one price when you inquire about service and a different one at the end of your service for things she took it upon herself to do such a HAIR CUT that was her fault that i never asked for!!!!!! Never ever ever ever ever waste your time or money with this place!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry to every other stylist at this establishment, but I cannot give a higher approval rating. I had my partial sew-in (with leave out on the edges) done by Kiwana and another woman did the spiral cornrow pattern and now I have a wound in my scalp. It is right in the center of my head, I'm so stunned, I haven't even washed my hair yet after taking it down. I had the sew in done about a month ago. I remember being in so much pain the woman who braided my hair gave me three pain killers. Look now. Your hair should NEVER be so tight that you need PILLS. Then Kiwana told me it's because I had taken braids down earlier. I have been getting braids since I was 9. I am now 25. I started getting weaves when I was 18. I've never had an issue going between braids and weaves and I have NEVER been tender headed. The fact is, the cornrows were literally ripping my scalp off my head, especially after sewing in a damn net on top of the already too tight braids. I have been to Kiwana before for a sew in and did not have this issue, so maybe it was the fault of the person doing the cornrows and mine for not saying this is too damn tight, start again, but as professionals, I would expect them to do their job and ensure the hair of their client is taken care of. What the hell are beauticians going to do with a bunch of bald headed females? Not have any damn clients, that's what. It's all good. I'll be doing my hair myself from now on. This was the motivation I needed to save my couple hundred of bucks. And I'm sorry, but I can't in good conscience recommend this establishment to anyone after my experience. I suggest if you must go here you ask for some other hair stylist. I wish I knew the name of the woman who did my cornrows because this is definitely on her as well. Sigh.
