Delaney Salon: Lily Perkins in Coppell, TX

I am the most hesitant when it comes to getting my haircut because I've had some not so memorable experiences in the past... leaving with a shorter or different style than the one I had envisioned. Lily was the first stylist I came to after 10 years where I walked out extremely happy with my hair cut. With COVID, she is NOT accepting walk-ins so make sure to call ahead. I called and left a VM, and within a couple of hours she responded and was able to squeeze me in on a Friday afternoon. She does get pretty busy near the weekends though, so don't wait last minute like I did! The suite is located within the Delaney Salon, so when you enter, take a right and she's easy to find. I brought a picture of the long bob style I wanted and she was able to follow exactly what I wanted, even providing suggestions for my specific hair type. I know she was meticulous, taking approx an hour to make sure everything looked perfect. I was even impressed with the blowout at the end, I never felt the heat of the blow dryer against my scalp. Lily is SUCH a sweet lady and will converse with you the entire appt. She deserves 5 stars and more.

Have been coming to Lily for over 4 years now, and it's just been a great experience. She is highly professional and really good at her job. She is great with recommendations for your hair based on what would suit you. She's very meticulous and updated on latest styles. Highly recommended.

I don't usually write reviews on businesses, but I decided to try out this salon based solely on the reviews I read here, and I wish so much that I had asked more people, because even a free haircut that leaves you needing to wait at least 6-9 months to grow out is not a good idea. I called ahead, made an appointment, was punctual, and brought 3 photos of the haircut I wanted. I have long hair, and wanted long layers. It's basically the same haircut I've had for 15 years, so I knew that bringing pics was important and also I told her upfront my hair isn't as thick as it seems, because layering hair involves calculating layers based on thickness. So the nutshell version is that after 90 minutes, she had still half of my head different layer lengths than the other half, had blow dried it straight (I told her I didn't ever style my hair that way and the pics were all of my same hair natural texture-wavy), and there were basically 2 major layers instead of a cascade of layers, and the shorter of those 2 was using about 70% of my hair, so really really weird proportions. The worst part was that she said she needed me to leave because her next client was already waiting, so I needed to come back later. Which would have been ok, except that a few hours later she tells me she can't because she is sick, another day. The next day she says sorry I'm going on vacation for a few weeks and I won't be able to fix it. Luckily, she had told me when I left that since she prefers cash over card, I could bring the money when I came back that night to have her fix it, but when she said she had to go on vacation she told me not to worry about paying her. This was good because I had to pay someone else JUST to make the layers symmetrical, and by that I mean the left side of my head layers were shorter than the right side. There was NOT a way to correct the layers because of how much hair she had cut disproportionately, which I think she realized when she did it, and that is why she acted so weird and then didn't have me pay. But I still had to pay to have someone make it look at least not like I had done it myself, and here I am a week later still annoyed every time I look in the mirror because it reminds me of a grown-out Mullet. I know it will grow out, but it will take about a year before the majority sections grow to even them all out. She seemed nice, and these reviews are all glowing, so I don't know if she just had a bad day or what. This was probably the worst haircut I've ever had, because of the fact that it isn't able to be fixed by someone who is more competent, there isn't anything I can do, and the way she got herself out of it seemed very shady. Also the "I really prefer cash" part, I don't usually carry that much money in cash. Just do your research, and know that all 5 star reviews doesn't mean it's safe.

All I can say is WOW! Lily did an amazing job on my hair. She actually listened to what I wanted and duplicated it to the T! Never before have I been so happy with my haircut and color. Now I'm a red head and loving it! I took pictures in to show her the cut and the exact color/highlight that I wanted and she nailed it. Not only do I love my hair, but my husband and co-workers loved it too! Now all I have to do is change my cover picture to reflect the new me :)

This was my first professional highlighting experience and Lily put me at ease. She listens well and is easy to talk to. I was so happy with the cut and color of my hair. Will definitely return and recommend to my friends.
