Cutting Crew Hair Salon Elmira in Elmira, NY

Went to Cutting Crew to get my haircut. Every time I go, I tell the stylist how I would like my hair. The cut I got prior to this one was ok. I had to fix it but it was manageable. The most recent one I received was an utter nightmare. I thought it was ok, until I got home, then I noticed that there was a very noticeable chunk taken out of my bangs, and very thin. On further inspection from my mother, she saw that there was a huge chunk of hair taken out of the back, uneven, and not blended together. Also the hair was cut way too short on the top of my head. I had to go to another stylist to fix it and was told that I will have to wait for it to grow out to undo the mess the stylist at CUTTING CREW made. I will not mention the stylist name because I believe calling a particular person out would be just plain mean. I received a survey on my experience from there and never heard back. They have lost my business and any good recommendation is enough for me.

They don't take reservations but Everytime I've tried walking in for an apt they've also told me they're not taking walk-ins. So yeah not sure what you have to do to actually get someone to cut your hair

I have been going to this place for over a year. But a few days ago, thought I try a new hair dresser. Boy what a mistake. Worst haircut ever. I showed her what I wanted, asked her if she could do this. Sure no problem. Now granted I believed her. Now it is super short with what looks like a bald spot. Before she started, I told her I had a cow lick on the back of my head, seened her cutting that spot. Told her don't cut that, oh I will make sure it stays down. So now I have to wait for the hair to grow. Thanks for my bald spot. Grrr

I wanted a simple French braid with barrel roll curls pined over it and then blended at the bottom for a romantic braid style for my wedding day. I showed the stylist step by step a you tube video of exactly what I wanted and she kept taking out my hair over and over, without communicating what the hell she was doing. I was in the chair for almost 3 hours...ended up LATE of my own wedding with no make up. I ended up with a 5 minute throw it together braid style that looked like crap and fell out 5 minutes later. IF YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO STYLE OR ARE HAVING DIFFICULTIES...GET YOUR MANAGER...The manager saw what was happening and I was bawling in the chair because it was taking so long and then they still tried to charge me 65 dollars for a crap job and the manager was extremely rude. LACK OF MANAGEMENT AND LACK OF TALENT. If ALL you know how to do is barber cuts Don't tell me you can do the style I'm asking for, especially for an important event such as my own wedding! Worst customer service experience of my life! Never will go there ever again and you shouldn't either. If I could give zero stars I would.

So the third time is the charm. The last 2 times I went there were shall we say communication issues?? Didnt realize I wanted a color, didnt realize I was still waiting, didnt realize I hadnt been signed in, cant have the colorist I was waiting for etc etc I call to see if I can be added to a waiting list and I am told that would be an appointment, which they do not do. So I go there and sign in and I am told its a 30 min wait. 45 minutes later I am still waiting when another woman walks in. She says she called and made an appt for highlights and has a seat. 15 minutes later the manager calls her over to start, immediately offering a BS excuse that this girl did not have an appt, that she called and was added to the waiting list. Ummm yeah you told me you couldnt do that??? So I am looking at waiting for another color to be done after waiting almost an hour already. No thanks. All I wanted was a simple root touch up, I never even have them style it to save them time and I tip roughly the same amount as the coloring charge is, so roughly a 40-50% tip.Yup my fault for going back, wont make that mistake again.Plenty of salons around here that are willing to treat me better and appreciate my business.
