It use to be you could set your calendar by my appointments at a hair salon. I went religiously every 6 weeks, and spent 1/2 a day there. Fast forward to today, I can count on one hand how many times I have had my haircut in the last 3 years. On a recent trip to Buffalo, my mother in law surprised me with an Saturday appointment with Lorraine. Because she had made the appointment only days earlier, I had expected to be squeezed in between other standing appointments. When I got there, to my suprise, I was one of two clients in the salon. Now this of course sends red flags hundreds of feet in the air. Why are there no clients on a Saturday Morning? Working mom or not, this is the typical best time to get your hair done because dad is normally a built in babysitter. Why isn't this place packed? I still don't know the answer, but I will tell you that I don't really care anymore. Lorraine did a fabulous job on my hair and did it without making a comment on the obvious fact that I dye my own hair to cover the premature grey. My hair was as dry as straw, and without saying a word, she put a nice protein mask on my hair, with some really deep conditioning, trimmed up the ends (ok, took two inches of straw off the ends), and sent me on my way. When I move to Western New York, and I will be sooner rather than later, you may be able to start setting your calendars to my hair appointments again. Thanks Lorraine!!
