Had my hair styled by Heidi today. She was absolutely fantastic, and did a great job on my straight blowout. She recommended several smoothing products made by Aveda to use on my hair. The salon was pretty big, could definitely accommodate quite a few clients. It was very clean as well. Heidi was very thorough with her hair styling. I can't wait to make another appointment with her!
This salon in the upstairs of Belk was a little hard to find but well worth it. Elizabeth did an amazing job and was very careful to ensure that I got exactly what I wanted. This salon is also more affordable comparative to what's in the area
Overall I had a very good experience here. Juanita was incredible as my stylist. So friendly and professional. First time clients get $20 off which is nice when haircuts cost $46. A friend of mine went and got her hair colored and that was a very good experience for her as well. I am however surprised that they charge a mysterious styling fee. My friend who was already paying $180 was charged a $9 styling fee and I was charged $4. Although it isn't much it was still a surprise to see another charge for getting my hair curled.

We engaged Carmen Carmen for bridal party make-up this summer. From the make-up artists' skills to the quality of product used...the whole thing was disappointing and not a good use of the wedding budget. Everyone but the mother-of-the groom and the junior bridesmaid, both who had minimal make-up done, had to rush to fix or redo our own make-up. No way we were standing up with our bestie looking crazy.
However, the reason I'm writing a review is for all you women of color out there. If you are a woman of color or have women of color in your bridal party, DEFINITELY do not consider these guys. They made a ton of excuses, some reasonably...most not, for why we looked ashy, why they didn't have blush or highlight colors that would work for our range of skin tones. In the end, it was just a joke.
Here's some of the reasons why this artists were below par:
- Showed up over an hour late
- Uncomfortable doing bottom eyelash mascara
- Uncomfortable doing winged liquid liner
- Did not put on enough concealer/foundation for the purpose of professional photos
- Did not have products for all women
I'm sure there are others who have had great make-up done by this salon, but this time on that day...it did not happen. Not even close.
We spoke with management and they made a ton of excuses and a partial refund. Not a satisfying outcome, but honestly, we just wanted to move on.
