Capello Salon & Spa in East Amherst, NY

I had a gift certificate and used it for a massage. It was a great Swedish massage. My only complaint (and reason for 4 stars) is that I booked specifically for a deep tissue massage. I could have said something in the moment but I felt awkward and the woman still did a good job. The point of my comment is that if you book for a specific type of massage that is what you should get without having to say anything in the middle of the massage. I only knew the difference because I've had many different types of massages, but other customers might not and they should get what they request & pay for.

I always have a great experience at this salon. While the price is a bit higher than other places you can be sure of high quality products and services. My hair is so much healthier when I come here. I have never been disappointed since 2001. Like any other salon I do have my preference of stylist but overall a fantastic salon. The salon accommodates any changes requested.

The only thing I ever loved about this salon was Neil. He had been doing my hair for years, so imagine my surprise when I went to book an appointment and heard he had moved to Arizona! I was shocked and disappointed he didn't tell me himself that he was moving. Come to find out, Neil didn't move to Arizona. After he was (what I believe was) unfairly let go, he moved about 10 minutes south to a salon behind Kohls on Transit & Klein. Sadly, I later heard from another of his former clients they were told another (more slanderous) story about why Neil was not with the salon anymore. Another lie. If the salon owner did not value his employee, that's one thing. Just tell his clients you don't know where he went. To spread awful rumors and lies about him is unprofessional and truly awful. I'm happy to say I've found Neil again & no longer have to darken the door of a place I felt no connection to outside the one person who always greeted me warmly & always made sure I felt valued.

This review is for the manicures only. I have been duly impressed by Nicole and her professional, skillful manner and incredibly long lasting gel manicures. I am very hard on my hands, but she manages to make them look really good. I've been going monthly and will continue. I've tried a lot of local nail salons and this is the only place I have been returning to. No worries at all about sterile instruments, hygiene or cleanliness. New buffer, file and wooden pusher thing every time. As for the atmosphere, it's a bit less relaxing than I would prefer. I think it's the noise level, and the music isn't very calming. The pedicure room (where my friend was) is especially cold seeming, all that tile and the sounds of well, you know, echoing. You pay and leave gratuity up front before leaving. I would not want to get my hair done here because of a lack of privacy, it's the kind of thing I would not want strangers seeing, it's really a personal thing. Hair dye, wet hair, all those foil things, are all best left under a veil of mystery. The ease of making an appointment is great: online, telephone, schedule next one up front while you're there...they text you reminders which I appreciate, even though it's in my calendar. You leave a card on file to pay which I don't mind doing, although I mostly pay in cash. Nicole does a great job on my not so wonderful nails. There would be so much opportunity for mistakes but she really makes them look as good as they get, shiny and flawless for a good two weeks.

I thought I was going to get a great haircut after all this was Capello's, I was taken back very timely there was a 1 minute consultation the whole haircut process was maybe 10 minutes the blow dry was 5, when i got home to redo my hair my hair I found that one side was longer than the other , so i called got another appointment went back couldn't get in to see original girl again another bad haircut I will never go back I think a good consultation is key ,also checking the hair cut is also important
