Weekends, especially Saturday mornings and afternoons, are often peak times for many hair salons. Additionally, weekday evenings can be busier due to clients visiting post-work. It's always a smart move to book in advance, but if you prefer a quieter environment, you can ask Capelli Hair about their less hectic hours.
Luv this salon and its owner Melissa! Great cut, color and Brazilian blowouts. Great value and phenomenal service. Been a client for years and they are always so accommodating.
I have noticed a friend's hair and asked who did it. That question led me to Jackie King at Capelli's. This review is mostly about her.
This place makes me feel like I'm in the movie Steel Magnolias. There are plenty of older women in there, but the stylists are hip and cheerful. I had color and cut and paid a lot less than I did at the last salon. The color turned out awesome. I loved the highlights and the covering of my sad little gray sprouts around my face. I also really appreciated the helpful tips on how to bring out my natural curls. At my request, Jackie lopped off six inches to give me what she called a "lob" (a long bob) and then, when I got home and changed my part, I noticed that one side was a little off. Jackie agreed to meet me back there for a quick fix. I have had multiple compliments on my hair.
The location is great as it's right off the 20th East exit on I-215, right on Highland Drive. Check it out!
I went to Sadie for a Brazilian Blowout. I was beyond excited and had been saving to get this service. When I left the salon my hair looked great and I truly thought it was worth every penny. However when I woke up the next morning I cried because my hair was FRIED BEYOND REPAIR. I have been trying to grow my hair out for so long and haven't been styling it or putting any heat on it except for special occasions in order for it to grow, which is why I wanted to get this service done. I am a cosmetology student who is about to graduate, and how she handled the situation was extremely unprofessional and unethical. She told me she has never seen that happen before and that Brazilian Blowouts can't possibly fry hair. Although if you do a quick search, you would know that that isn't true. As a professional she should have owned up and took responsibility and compensate by returning my money since this isn't fixable and now I have to chop my hair off. She had offered to fix it by doing a deep condition although I and all of my instructors agreed that wouldn't fix it but could help. So I did the deep moisture condition at school and with the advice of my instructors. One who is certified in a Brazilian Blowout and thoroughly understands the science of it, said that during my consultation, Sadie should have said I wasn't a good candidate for the service. I wish I had spoke to this instructor first but I am a night student and she teaches days (I was in today to make up some hours). Sadie said that is what she would have done to "fix" it (deep condition) although this isn't fixable. We let moisture sit on it for 4 hours and only used cold water so the cuticle would seal. It made my hair feel a lot better and was an improvement but it was broken and some parts still felt like straw. When I sent her the first photo of it in the morning she accused me of putting something in my hair (why would I spend so much money on a service, to go home and destroy my hair and then have to chop it all off?) When I sent her the 2nd photo of how my hair looked after the deep condition she said I shouldn't have done it and that made it worse. IT HELPED MY HAIR and it still looked like a mop on my head but better than it did when I first woke up. She said I needed to use a conditioner that was acidic, I and all of the professionals I was surrounded with understand the composition of hair. Not to mention moisture is acidic. So she kept saying anything to not refund me. I am honestly really hurt and devastated that I had spent so much money only to chop my hair off and she tried to make it seem like my fault. Be warned that she cares about the dollar sign and not integrity of hair and client. This is extremely unprofessional and unethical for her to take my money and burn my hair off.
