Best Hair Salon in Leesburg, Loudoun County | Hair Color Salon in Ashburn, VA

I was calling around on a holiday looking for a salon that had availability. I was pleasantly surprised that Salon Montage told me I could arrive in about 40 minutes and be seen for a haircut. 40 minutes later I walked through the door and waited to be seen. I should have realized something was very off because there was only one stylist present and 3 other clients... On a holiday! I hoped my stylist was in the back finishing up a break... Then the stylist that was running back and forth between the three clients motions to a girl to take me back to get me started on the shampoo. I was really looking forward to this part, because in my opinion, the shampooing of the hair should be one of the highlights of a haircut and a reason you choose a salon over a barber.... Anyway, the girl leaned me back and wet the very crown of my head with cold water, she then proceeded to RUB shampoo into the top of my head for about 5 seconds, not even touching the sides or the length of my hair. There was no massage, no warm water, no washing of my hair. She ran the cold water over my hair again applied conditioner to the top of my hair, rinsed it out, and told me to wait in the chair. I touched my hair and felt a bunch of suds that hadn't been washed away... Okay, so maybe I'm spoiled and not all salons give great shampoos. That was fine because I was still pumped that I had found a salon available to take me at such short notice. After sitting at the shampoo station for 10 minutes with cold wet hair the stylists beckoned me over and tells me to sit in one of the styling chairs. The chair and the surrounding floor was completely covered with 2 inch long wet hair clippings of a precious client. I brush them away with my hand and sat down. I then stayed seated there for another 30 minutes while my cold tangled hair dried by itself. Finally after about 45 minutes of waiting and being uncomfortably cold the stylists turns to me and asks what I want. I explain that I want lots of layers and a few inches off. She combs my now near-dry and very tangled hair, pulls out a razor and runs it through my hair a few times. The whole process took about 7 minutes... not that time is a good indicator of skill, but all other salons I've been to have taken at least 25-30 minutes just cutting my hair due to how thick it is. I looked at my hair and ask if she could layer it a bit more and thin it out. She seemed annoyed but went back to work. After a few minutes I look again and ask if she can layer it more, she refuses and makes up some excuse and seems very agitated. She also did not thin my hair like I had asked but I felt like she was rushing me because a timer had gone off for one of her other clients and she was edging away from me as I spoke to her. I did not feel valued as a client and to make matters worse I payed the most I've ever paid for a single salon haircut. Please avoid this place.

Seema and her team did hair and make-up for my wedding on August 3rd in Leesburg and I can not say enough kind words about them! All of the women did such an amazing job! My sister even told me she wished she had used them for her wedding because she loved the way they did her hair and make-up so much. They really went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable and good about their wedding day look. They also did such an amazing job on my hair and make-up. I felt like a princess and got so many compliments on my up-do. They were truly a joy to work with and made my wedding day so special! I highly recommend!

My friend had booked all us bridesmaids and mothers of the groom and bride to get hair and make up done here at 10:30am. I show up to the salon at 10:30 and the lights are off and the doors are locked despite the door saying they open at 10am. I called the salon but there was no answer. For a big day like a wedding I expected the salon to be open at the time of the appointment. We weren't taken immediately to get our hair and make up done as the owner decided to work in a woman who was doing a trial for hair an make up for her wedding at least several weeks away from that day. The owner even commented that she would have to "work SO hard to make the mother of the bride look beautiful" the other bridesmaid and I couldn't believe our ears. Her daughter had to start my make up over twice because my face was so heavily made up when I had showed her pictures of natural make up examples in my phone. The daughter also curled my hair for which she didn't curl the ends like other professional stylists had done in the past. A hair protectant was also not applied. I could've easily curled my own hair at home. Her mother had to "fix" my hair by curling the rest of the ends and pinning my hair off my face. She also burnt my ear with the curling iron. As soon as I finished I asked the girl behind the desk (her other daughter) to ring me up. She asks her mother how much and I pay. As we are leaving it turns out the bride had already paid and I was double charged by the daughter whom the owner says, "she didn't know" yet the mother had told her how much to charge me. The owner took so long taking pictures and commentary videos that we were late leaving the salon to get to the venue which led her to not being able to refund mine and the other bridesmaids double-charged service. We were able to work it out over the phone after a couple of days. One major plus that keeps this review from being a 1-star was the make up artist that did the bride's make up. She did a magical job and was clearly more professional like other make up artists. She wore all black shirt and pants instead of off-shoulder flutter-sleeved tops and skirts and her hair was tied back professionally. I wish I could find her so I can tip her personally.

I made an appointment for 4 to get my eyebrows threaded. I was not seen until 4:35. When she did my eyebrows she left a lot of hairs on the ends that I specially told her I wanted off. Wouldn't recommend.

I recently went to Salon Montage after getting a horrible haircut and highlight at another salon. I walked in hoping someone would have time to fix my hair before the work week started so I didn't look embarrassing for a busy important work week. Seema so nicely made time for me and helped me. Rather than a stylist that will say yes to whatever you want (watch out for those) Seema tells you what to realistically expect with whatever hair you got going on and really knows her colors. Considering the situation she had to work with my hair looks great now!
