Avalon Institute in Phoenix, AZ

The lack of professionalism amongst the staff in the school is unimaginable. The environment of the school creates unwanted and unnecessary stress on top of life stressors. They pick and choose what students they will allow to not follow policies and which ones they will enforce the policies on. They will mess with your hours if you're not on top of them to fix it. I definitely wouldn't recommend going to this school to anyone.

Don't go to school here. They dont invest in their school, resulting in students getting injured. I was in Class on Saturday laying on a massage bed and it was not put together properly. The beds have two screws per leg to adjust the height and one of the legs only had one screw. When I was on the bed it came undone resulting in me falling on the ground. Luckily I caught myself with my arm but it could have ended way worse. No instructor was present to help. I went to the office for help and yet no one to be found. I walked all over campus just to find an instructor, this is not ok. I am severely bruised and all the leadership did was hand me an incident form to protect themselves. What am I paying $12,000 for? We never have an instructor present and we are given unsafe equipment to work with. This school doesn't care about their students safety. Just take a look around, you'll notice every stool has broken wheels. Also, it's so unsanitary. We are told to clean at the end of the day with just water. Imagine moping your floor with just sink water, how disgusting. It might be cheaper but im telling you its not worth it, go somewhere else.

I got the worst perm I've ever had in my entire life. I didn't think you could go as bad as it did! I brought my own perm solution they refuse to use it. They told me they have the same perm solution on hand, after it was wrapped she came out and told me they didn't have that perm solution, after all. I should have got up and left because the honesty was right out the door. The second thing is they didn't have enough perm rods in the size I wanted. It is just a big mess I called and told the director about my experience and he never invited me back the customer service at this place is just absolutely horrendous I would not go back and I do not recommend. Run run the other way it isn't worth it!

Worst experience ever i walked out with half my hair dyed. I'm not joking the back of my head is still the color i came in with. I want to cry. I don't have the funds rn to go get my hair done and I was told to go there. I understand they take forever because everyone is a student thats fine but they fully did not dye the back of my head. I was beyond kind which I shouldn't have been because even my bangs are 2 different colors. I look like a fucking moron. I will never ever go back. Lesson learned hair is something worth saving ur money for not amateurs wanting to play dress up. I would add a pic but im literally devastated and way too embarrassed to ever have my ugly ass hair online ‍

I wish I could leave one star. How horrible this place was they fried my hair. And the guy that did my hair was about 19 years old and I found out that I was the first person that he ever did highlights on. He told me this mid styling. Wow, and the instructors came over and kissed his ass because I think they had a crush on him these older ladies it was unbearably horrible. I lost my hair and my hair is fried.!!'
