I will keep this brief as Yelp has a limit and I keep exceeding it. I went here on recommendation from a friend to see McKenzie and suffice it to say neither of us will be back.

I went in asking for a balayage. I will upload pictures of my hair before and what I asked for. I told McKenzie I wanted something subtle because I was getting married and just wanted it to look a little fresher for my big day. McKenzie was rude and dismissive the minute I walked in and to keep it brief, she triple booked herself, rushed around with my hair so she could focus on her friend who also was there for her appointment, and she did everything with haste and did not listen.

To continue to keep it brief, I walked in asking for a balayage, and I left with grey hair. McKenzie initially dyed my entire head of hair platinum blonde (not a balayage, but she's been doing this for 16 years so she should know that right?), tried to fix it and my hair turned grey. I left honestly laughing because I looked like an idiot because one side was darker than the other, and she massacred my hair less than a month before I get married! In her defense she did not ask me to pay and had she I think I would have laughed in her face. She told me the grey would wash out and spoiler alert! It did not, instead it turned green!

I went to another salon to have it fixed (shout out to Marci at Studio M!) and have had to go see her twice in order to remedy how royally McKenzie screwed up my hair. I have now spent over $200 to have my hair rectified. Both my new stylist and other employees at the salon said they had never seen such a mistake and also pointed out how McKenzie had cut my hair lopsided in her haste. I sent the salon owner an email telling her about my horrific experience with McKenzie only to be met with essentially, "that sucks, you should have let me fix it but I'll condition your hair to repair the damage McKenzie caused" like I would trust anyone in that salon. McKenzie was forwarded this email and decided the mature and correct respond would be to text my friend and try to paint me in a negative light in order to maintain her as a client. My friend sent me everything McKenzie said to her because why wouldn't she and I gave McKenzie a piece of my mind. She never offered to pay for the mistakes that she made but I was once again offered a deep condition.

I waited until my hair was fixed to write this review but I will say that my hair is not back to what it used to be, because it was impossible to make it that way. So McKenzie destroyed my hair too much for it to be fixed! She continually claims that she has never made a mistake like this in 16 years which I know is not true, and continually passes the buck onto some other excuse. Maybe other people in this salon are capable of doing hair correctly but based on the owners response and McKenzie, I have my doubts.
