From the outside, the place doesn't look like much. A brick building, and their sign out front is missing a few letters. But muster up your courage and go inside. You might have to knock, call -I think sometimes they lock the door even if someone is there, especially at night.
Now, second obstacle will be to ignore the decor inside as we'll. this place looks a bit like it never made it out of 1973.
BUT.. Here's why it gets 5 stars!
I approached Raebelle around 10 am, last week about coloring and cutting my hair. (An important thing to note is that the two stylists I met were both African American, and I've met some such beauticians who've told me they don't work with Caucasian hair. Not so with Raebelle.). She had someone already scheduled that morning and that job would take several hours, but she was willing to work on me after. I had to go get my breaks done, and had just gotten off night shift, so I took her number and said I'd call when my breaks got done. 6 looooooong hours later my breaks were done, but so was I. Raebelle agreed to let me come in at 7:30pm to get my hair done, way later than most big name stores.
Let me just say that the color is PERFECT ! The perfect, natural red I was looking for. And she even washed my hair, layered it, AND blew it dry with some mousse and hairspray. I left there looking ready to go on a date.
I've paid close to $100 at a big name salon, where I didn't get near the right color, nor did they cut it, or even blow dry it ( I think blow dry was $20 extra).
Raebelles price for her awesome work? $65. And I have (had) shoulder length naturally curly dark brown hair. Now with the split ends off it's even curlier. Loving my new look, and I will DEFINITELY be returning here, whenever I need a cut or touch up color.
