Zoom Tan - Tanning Salon in Latham, NY

I have been going to Zoom since they opened in the Capital district. With the whole pandemic I thought to suspend my membership until the most severe threat of the virus was over. The customer service team has not only mocked me and lessened the severity of this disease, they have insulted me. I cant believe how careless a salon is being in not encouraging people to stay home and come back to continue a suspended membership when this is a bit better. My job has closed (responsibly) and Zoom customer service acted like I would treat this as a vacation. People are dying and Zoom is unscathed. They still have one girl running the place alone with not enough time to clean in between everyone properly. The place is understaffed the girls are overworked and as far as I'm concerned it's a great place to catch a disease. There's no way to properly disinfect the metal grates of the tanning bed never mind all of the fans that blow around droplets that contain a virus when someone sneezes when they are getting a tan. Everyone knows tanning is a dirty experience especially at Zoom Tan but now it's out right dangerous. Zoom Tan: "What good is it to send all the staff home when many of them will go shopping or to Starbucks drive through. If you have been sent home from work then you should quarantine yourself. Sadly many employees have not done that. They are treating it as a vacation. We see these people daily in our salons. They tell us so. Paul are you quartining yourself? If so then thank you. If not then why not?" "We feel our salons are very safe relatively speaking. We dont have large crowds, you dont have to stand close to anyone and inside the booth is likely sterilized by the UV light. So if you dont stand near anyone and you wash your hands on the way out its a very safe experience. The only way you can be crazy safe is to never leave your house or allow anyone to come into your house. There are 950 confirmed cases of out of 20+ million people in NY. Just be careful when you go anywhere and you will remain at a very low risk." First of all, my job closed because they're a responsible business and don't want to spread the virus. We are trying to flatten the curve which is what all of America (except Zoom Tan) is trying to do. Zoom is depending on the light to "sterilize" their booths and you're not supposed to touch anything while you're in that tight space tanning. Oh and there's only 950 cases (but now there's over 1000) and people are dying. Great guys great..

I went here for the first time today. The associates were very friendly. The salon is very clean and they have many rooms!

I found it completely deplorable to see a manager of a place sitting on her ass texting in the office when I needed her help. I am a General Manager myself and I was completely discussed to see someone who is suppose to be managing a business sitting in the office with her feet kicked up on a chair texting. What the hell kind of customer experience is this!!!!! OWNERS... who the hell are you hiring???? I am not impressed!!! We are suppose to see increased profit, sales and asset protection!!!! If this is expectable to you then have them close the office door!

Desk staff -had a harm time re-enrolling a patron. I was next in line, but after a 15 minute wait, 5 more people were in a line to the door. Only after the patron said. "why don't you take care of these people and we will come back to this" twice did she move the line along. -When I finally got up there she told me that I had no package. I had a month long which was due to expire on that day. Timed it to vacation. She said "sorry-" on ending day the membership expires --ready--at 3:20 AM!!!! Customer service was no help. Only satisfaction was that everyone in that line was as disgusted as I was. Buyer beware!!!

Not impressed! I had a Groupon for one spray tan - I was never told about the Tuesday $2 tan I could have received this day and used my Groupon another day-- the 2 girls at front desk were nice but not very helpful. I asked for one of them to show me how the spray tan works and neither of them offered they just told me to go to room # and listen to prompts - after telling them twice my anxiety over it they still refused to assist me. I was told I could shower after 4 hours, I did and it washed most of it off. Customer Service is key and I feel Zoom Tan failed here.
